Really!?Pretty sure football players and MBB players will all be safe under the new Trump administration.
I wasn't referring to the quote, but the picture..As it should be
so dumb. all of this is just so dumb. And yes Iowa has already laid off staffers in preparation for this.
Imagine thinking every football player receives NIL or even close to the amount a scholarship covers. News Flash: some don’t get much if any.
Title IX will apply, leaving Iowa with $118.78 per football player.
I fully think it will not apply, nor should itTitle IX will apply, leaving Iowa with $118.78 per football player.
We haven’t heard anything other than the SEC is sticking to the 85 scholarship limit for 2025 season. Don’t know how much will be allocated to football or how they’ll split between football players. I’d imagine it’ll have to be public for public institutions. Not sure if you can disclose, but any idea how Georgia will divide its revenue sharing amongst its 105 man roster? Also, will the amounts being paid be made public?
It's semi-pro ball now. We have seen that the top 20ish teams have big NIL donors, need to just separate the haves and have nots.Nice attitude. That being said, they aren't employees. And if we ever see a place where college athletes are considered employees it will be an end to a majority of college athletics. Very few could ever afford to fund teams.
The “have nots” are not going to form some “no nil” league. It's semi-pro ball now. We have seen that the top 20ish teams have big NIL donors, need to just separate the haves and have nots.
I doubt it. The TV money is getting so obscene some players/lawyers were going to challenge the system.I just wonder if the NCAA had allowed full cost of attending a school along with a stipend would have changed things.
The no NIL league will be called... the scholarship league. The “have nots” are not going to form some “no nil” league.
And the courts will go along with the players not being allowed to work part time jobs. The no NIL league will be called... the scholarship league.![]()
