Will Trump pardon Chauvin?

Trump wants violence. It’s one of his narcissistic itches he needs to scratch. He gets off on people fighting because, and over, him. He caters to the violent. Now reports saying that he canceled all aid to Ukraine before his meeting with Zelenskyy, just another example of how he loves violence, not peace.
LOL - You fool, Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Why bring it up if it is neither here nor there? Who are you to value a man's life, and future potential?
George Floyd didn't need to die that day. My simple optics are that a rogue cop killed a guy, and he and his fellow cops attempted to cover it up. They would have gotten away with it except for the video.
I see it a little differently than you do, but a jury who presumably saw all the evidence found him guilty so your take is probably more correct than mine.

But I saw a guy who committed a crime, knew he was in trouble and in possession of drugs, ingested them, became difficult/uncooperative and refused to listen or follow standard arrest procedure. He put the officers in a tough position, and he died as a result.

I think there's shared blame for what happened between Chauvin and Floyd, this seems more like manslaughter or wrongful death than murder. I do think all of the police on the scene should have been fired, tried, and spent time in jail. This feels more like a 5-year sentence to me than 50 years.

You're right - that's just crass on my part.

For the record I feel the same way about people like Scrud and Rico.

He didn't deserve to die, but his actions and addictions had just as much, if not more, to do with that as the cop did. I see 'murder' as intent - I don't believe for a second that the cop 'murdered' him. This never occurs if he simply sits in the back of the cop car and waits.

I might add, you're also inflecting your thoughts on Derek's intent just as I am - just the other direction.

I think I'm right and of course you think you are, somewhere in the middle of all of it is the truth that no one will ever know.

Chauvin was the sacrificial lamb, a political pawn sacrificed in an effort to appease the blood thirsty BLM crowd.

At any other time and place the sentence and the crime would have been at a much lower level.
Yeah but man that smell of burning rubber and ash as Minneapolis damn near burnt to the ground was so great we had to open up the windows to take it all in!
