William Henckel Opens Up About Iowa Recruitment

I won’t lie, once I heard he was an Iowa lean, I was really disappointed watching him compete at Ironman. Tough kid but offense and athleticism seemed limited.

I would obviously love to have him in the Iowa room but I don’t think this is one to lose sleep over. I highly doubt he ever cracks the lineup in HV.

Agree….he will definitely have a tough time making it as a starter…..will not shock me at all if some of the psu kids hit the portal in the next 2-3 years

I never took that he was an Iowa lean from that article. If anything his answers to the interview gave me the same feeling as all the other guys who ended up at PSU that leveraged Iowa in the recruiting process the last couple of years. It is smart on these kids' part but sucks for us. I guess it is nice to at least be able to give these kids our pitch. Where before NIL we were not even on a lot of the top guys top 5s.

Probably so, but I was more referring to the board chatter around Henckel and Iowa after Deluca committed. I will admit, I didn't read the article until this morning.

No not all actually…..your comment was about pa kids being strong armed basically to go to psu…are you saying you aren’t referring to henckel (because you were)…….for your info he is from Connecticut and wrestled for Blair…I like how you edited your comment about this
I don’t care where he is from. And yes I did edit it specifically for your like.

Was Henckel one of our silent commits?
My guess is there were no "silent" commits. It was people tying to look in the know. I honestly don't see the staff leaking that information to absolutely anyone as they are the ultimate conspiracy theorists. Let alone to someone that would post it on a message board.

#2 Dee Lockett - committed.

#3 Marcus Blaze - uncommitted - highly doubt he's a silent commit considering the tOSU interest & his brother at Purdue. Still hope we get him though.

#5 Will Henckel - committed.

#6 Leo DeLuca - Iowa commit.

#12 CJ Torres - committed.

The rest are unknown to me.

#58 Elvis Solis

#65 Hunter Sturgill

Need blaze man . One blue chip per class isn’t going to cut it. I know he’s a long shot
Ur right. I’m excited about Deluca and he’s gonna be great but we need 2-3 blue chips a class. I hope Blaze is still in play and the staff can bring him in. Losing Chittum and Jesuroga in the 2023 class are big let downs. Only one blue chip in the 24 and 25 class will also be a let down.
