Really like what I saw out of these guys last night. Wagner has been on the rise these last 10 games but he seems to be taking some nice strides now each game in his progression. Williams is a mystery to me. A mystery in that why hasnt Fran given him atleast 5 mins a game all season? Williams showed a ton of rust last night but he also showed that he is a lengthy guard that can drive, score, draw fouls and rebound all while playing some ok D. I can only imagine what he might be right now if he avg'd something like 5-6 mins a game in early B1G play. When you look at Wagner and see how much he has advanced (really only player that has been progressing) it wouldnt be far fetched to say Williams could be a guy key positive bench guy late in the season giving Iowa 12 - 18 mins a game between the 1-3 positions much like Wagner. When Wagner and Williams were on the court I saw something that you rarely see anymore from Iowa. Athleticism. I actually think Iowa can win 16-20 games next year. I hope Fran gives Williams and Wagner each 10 plus minutes a game the rest of the way out.

Since I have played as much as Williams this year, I have fresh legs too. This should be no surprise and just another bad sign of Fran's ability to coach the team.

Williams will be playing 30 minutes a game next year, so it's best to get him use to being the PG out there now.

Agree, keep going to those guys, they need a chance to show they are not going to fold like some other players keep doing.

Wagner is very athletic, but has no shot outside a lay up. He even air-balled a FT.

Agree but that can come with off season work. I recall Basabe and Cole being in similar positions as freshman and slowly developing a good mid range jumper over their careers.
