Nah, I fully expect Iowa to make the tournament this year and I'm still ready for a parting of the ways.…and most of you will be back on the Fran train.

It's not just you. Look at home attendance. You are in good company, and the lack of company at home games proves that.My frustrations with this program go way deeper than any one game. If I'm down on Iowa basketball, it's not because Iowa got clobbered by Purdue last night. Likewise, all isn't automatically right with the world again if Iowa wins its next game, either.
Based on what (Iowa making the tournament)?Nah, I fully expect Iowa to make the tournament this year and I'm still ready for a parting of the ways.
Its just time to try something different.
I admit I’m not a huge basketball fan but did get into it Luka’s last year. That seemed like a great opportunity for Iowa to do something and they still couldn’t get past the first weekend.Iowa Basketball has been the same a while now.
No one seems to care that much really.
It's a sick joke from the sporting gods that our football and basketball teams are polar opposites.I admit I’m not a huge basketball fan but did get into it Luka’s last year. That seemed like a great opportunity for Iowa to do something and they still couldn’t get past the first weekend.
I enjoy watching Fran’s teams better than Lickliter ball but it’s obvious Iowa can only go so far without playing any defense whatsoever. It seems like fans are about as tired of Fran as they are Ferentz.
History/trends. Ive had this same discussion the previous 2 years.Based on what (Iowa making the tournament)?
Okay.History/trends. Ive had this same discussion the previous 2 years.
This looks pretty much like every Fran team/season of recent memory but with possibly a little more upside than most because of Freeman.
I place zero relevance on this game as it pertains to Iowa in the long run.
Fran teams usually look like the Washington Generals at Purdue.
Go back and watch last years game at Purdue. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference from this year. It was just as pathetic besides Iowa closing the gap a little in the last 4 minutes by pressing. Other than that, identical ass whooping.
They lost by 36 at Purdue in Garzas junior year.
Iowa will start looking decent in mid December , look strong in January like they might even play a little defense, start to fizzle in February.
They'll be top 2 in scoring in the league and the worst defense.
This has usually led to a one and done tournament birth and I don't see any reason it won't this year.

I'm honestly surprised there aren't more threads bashing Fran and the team after last night's game. Just to be clear, I'm not calling for that - it's just an observation. The message boards used to be on fire after any loss, particularly an ugly one (see the football board). It's not just you. Look at home attendance. You are in good company, and the lack of conpany at home games proves that.
Their 3 losses are road games to two top-5 NET teams and a neutral court loss to #19. We go at #12 NET on Thursday. Going 0-4 in those games doesn't keep you out of the tournament, and if they do happen to win Thursday I'd say it would boost their chances of making it by a ton. It just feels doom and gloom right now because Iowa will have played their 3 current highest ranked road games of the season before Christmas this year which is obviously pretty rare since so much of the non-conference schedule is usually home buy games and neutral court games.Okay.
I just saw they’re 5-3 with a couple more tough December games.
It seems like they better do really well in conference play come January.
I get it but it's actually a pretty typical start for Iowa.Okay.

Love your optimism...I thought we are like a 17 win team.Their 3 losses are road games to two top-5 NET teams and a neutral court loss to #19. We go at #12 NET on Thursday. Remember that last year, Iowa made the tournament and had a much, much worse start by losing their first 3 Big Ten games--which included a mediocre Wisconsin team at home and a bad Nebraska team on the road--plus they lost a terrible buy game to Eastern Illinois. Iowa just needs to keep beating the teams they are supposed to and hopefully once they get some good teams at home they perform better than they have so far away from Carver.
