Approx 350 for a truck with safelite. But that's not OEM. Significantly more for that.

Have you used Safelite and if so how has it turned out for you?

We used it for my wife's SUV. Was pretty easy. They came to her work and knocked it out. She didn't even have to do anything.

Couple things. Came with free windshield wipers. They sucked, we replaced them. Then vs. the OEM at the bottom edge of the windshield things will distort a little bit, almost like your looking through a rounded glass. But you have to lean over and look for that to happen. The kids noticed that because they were looking from the back seat and are shorter.

Otherwise we didn't have any issues.

I’ve had great experiences with Safelite both times I’ve used them. Once they even gave me the premium windshield for the rain sensing wipers for the price of the base windshield since they didn’t have the base windshield on hand.

I used a local company and saved about $150 bucks.

I've used them in the past. No problems at all. I like that they came out and did it, and i didn't have to do anything at all.

I had them replace a cracked windshield on my last Tacoma. It was right around 300. I found the work to be well done. No leaks or any issues. That was standard glass though. Newer acoustic windshields cost a hell of a lot more to replace! Like three or four times more. For that reason, I have insurance coverage for the windshields of my newer vehicles. It doesn't add much to my premiums and could potentially save me a lot of money. Something to keep in mind folks.

We've used them and several co-workers of mine have used them. Seem like a solid company and $300 bucks for a windshield is pretty cheap.

I broke the windshield in the dumbest way. My phone was acting up, it pissed me off, I threw it and it ricocheted off the dash into the windshield at apparently the exact angle needed to do the damage. (no way the velocity could've been too extreme -- amazed this happened)

Giant spiderweb crack. Guess that's what I get.

Weird. They said they'd do it but they wanted me to give the installer a rub-down and a beer.
See, you shouldn't have to do all that! :)

I meant more like taking time off work, dropping the car off some where and waiting, or finding a ride home and then back again when it was done.

I have used it, they did it quickly and properly and my insurance paid for it.

Used it, it’s fine.

Windshields vary greatly on price. If you have an old car with no sensors or fancy crap a replacement isn’t bad at all.

Newer cars with auto wipers and anything else in windshield are jacks the price up like crazy.

We received a reasoable initial quote on our make and model and then we entered the VIN and up pops the "your car has sensors in the windshield."

Ouch!

As others have said, very convenient service. I’d say it’s expensive but I think that’s just the price of the windshield + the convenience of them coming to you if you want.
