Plus Lsu too...
I guess the bye is an upside

They very well could be a beaten up bunch when they come to kinnick...

I bought tickets for the Wisconsin game yesterday thinking "oh, this could be a great game of top 25 teams" and then when I looked at their schedule in detail, I was surprised.

With that neutral site LSU game, @MSU, @Michigan, and vs OSU, it is completely possible they will have 4 losses when they come to Kinnick. That surely wouldn't place them in the top 25, but they will be plenty battle-tested and probably pretty desperate. On the other hand, what if they only have one loss!

For the last 15 to 20 years, Wisky has been a thorn in OSU's side - just like MSU the last 5 to 7. Not saying they beat the Buckeyes, but my guess it will be a much tougher game than most anticipate.

Kind of wish their game vs LSU at Lambeau was at a different time than Iowa Miami (OH). Be one of the more intriguing first week matchups. Fournette vs Wisky D with LSU having former Badger D coordinator. If I was a Badger fan you think they'd take in heartbeat going 2-2 in first 4 games vs msu, mich, osu and lsu.

Yes. If I was confident in the QB situation, I would be disappointed with anything less than 2-2. I'm not very confident at this point in time, so I would gladly take 2-2.

Loaded schedule for sure. Reminds me of 09 when Iowa had to play at #5 Penn State, @ Wisconsin, @ Michigan State and @ Ohio State

I have heard a few commentators say that Wisconsin is easily the best team in the West but they have the hardest schedule. I agree with the schedule, but easily the best team in the West? That just seems like you don't really know what you are talking about.
They don't have an elite RB like they have when they have been really good and their QB situation is a mystery. Also lacking in WRs. Iowa beat them at Wisconsin last year. They lost their best defensive player in Schobert and lost 3 of 4 starters in the defensive backfield and their stud D coordinator. I think their D should be good again but I don't think it will be as good as last year and I don't think their offense gets any better.

^ Agree on most points, David, but Corey Clement is a hell of an RB.

Additionally, I think their OL is better than last year, but not up to their norm.

Their front 7 will still be plenty good. Biegel got overshadowed by Schobert, but he's not much of a step back.

It will be interesting to see how they transition from Aranda to Wilcox.

From an Iowa perspective, especially if you consider Nebraska the main challenge in the West Division, the nice thing about that schedule is that the Badgers should be pumped-up to be back home again when playing Nebraska on 10/29. They will be looking for a boost after playing 3 of 4 games on the road against likely ranked teams, including Iowa the week before. Its a long look ahead but a Nebraska loss there should be a very big help to Iowa.
10/22 Wisconsin at Iowa
10/29 Nebraska at Wisconsin (Iowa bye)
Two big weeks which will impact the B10 West.

I wonder how their morale will be if they lose those three games in a row before playing at Iowa. If they lose some heartbreakers, guys get hurt, they could wind up losing to some teams you'd think they'd beat. If, somehow, they go 2-1 against those teams then I'll believe they're a really serious threat.

No doubt the Badgers have a brutal first 6 weeks of conference schedule, but I think Nebraska 2018 schedule looks even more challenging.

At least Wisconsin gets Nebraska and Ohio St at home, Nebraska only gets Michigan St at home.
