Turns out King's "personal matter" was tending to his sore nuts after Davidson cupped him on a dozen screens during their last practice.

I changed my opinion on King. I think he is an upright student athlete that was disgusted by his team and teammates' dirty play and refused to be part of it.
King was coming on as one of Wisky's most talented players, so I'm glad he got disgruntled before they played the Hawks. Don't know anything about him personally and why he is unhappy.
Gard claimed it was a personal matter. That could mean anything. Maybe he is just tired of playing slow ball for the lowest scoring team in the B1G.
It might be. Maybe he thinks UW's style of offense isn't using his talents effectively or maybe he thinks his role on the team should be different. Or ... who knows? It's Wisconsin so as long as bad things happen to them, I'm okay with it.
