Looks like he is done in 21. So what are the best guesses for 22?

It sounds like Bowen is a high priority at point guard, gets calls from all of Iowa's coaches weekly. He is 6' 3" with length. King from Minnesota at PG, but maybe a better safety prospect.

I really like Nickel or Schutt, both can fill it beyond the arc. Nickel at 6'7" is more of a Wieskamp clone. Schutt is a SG at 6'5" tall but would be a taller version of Fredrick. Either would be great gets but pulling Nickel away from Virginia will be tough. Same can be said about pulling Schutt away from Illinois. With Iowa's offensive style, either would be a great fit for the Hawks.

If Fran wants to go bigger does he try to get Hurlburt from North Dakota or Filipowski from out East.

Two more schollies for 22, will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Well likely have 1-2 leave from now until then as well.. there are definitely options. Would like him to grab a MN kid to get a pipeline going as the talent pool is deep!

Good summary. It will be interesting if Iowa has any transfers out that change the scholarship numbers. PG will be a need as Joe T will be a senior and Ulis a JR when 2022 season starts. Bowen's tape is impressive, he has natural ability to get to and finish around the rim. Iowa also will need a guard or wing who can shoot from the perimeter since Iowa's top three point shooters will be gone in 2 years in JBo, Wieskamp, and CJ.

Tarris Reed is an interesting name. 4 star PF out of the same St Louis high school as Tyler Cook. His offer list is impressive so it may be a longshot for Iowa. But it seems Iowa might be content with two bigs in one class so we'll see what Fran does. Absolute huge recruiting opportunity after this season.

Need to get Nickel. I think Mulvey is a bit more in the mold of a stretch 4, so probably need to go in the direction of a true center. I’m thinking Shaver when saying this. If we do close with one more guy, I hope for either Tarris Reed, Demarion Watson, or Aidan Shaw.

Just read that 4 Penn State dudes are in the portal today. Wonder if Harrar would be interested in taking over for Garza.

Good point, Harrar is okay as backup a...but I don't think a lot of the East coast kids have much interest in Iowa......If I were Fran, I would hope for the Iowa kid at Minnesota.

Even if Foster were available out of ISU, I don't think Iowa needs a 7'0 guy that wants
to hang out at 3pt line and would struggle guarding opposing 4's and not make them
pay for going small at 4.

I just hope Iowa doesn't see any defections. I would be worried about losing 1 or more from Perkins, Ulis, JoeT.

I'm still hoping Fran gets another post for next season. I'm optimistic Ogundele can contribute a few minutes per game, but I'm only at the level of "hope" that Nunge can complete a full season as a starter. I would hate to see the team try to go with just those 2 as your only bona fide post players.
A grad transfer wouldn't really scare off any future recruits. While it'd be great if the second coming of Patrick Ewing needed one year of post-baccalaureate education at Iowa, someone in the mold of a Jarryd Cole or Cyrus Tate type of player for one year would be a good insurance policy, too.

Fran needs to find a 6'2-6'3ish PG that can run the floor, handle the ball against pressure, shoot 3s, distribute on offense, and lock down on defense without needing to come out every 5-7 minutes.

John Wall. Go get John Wall from the NBA and have him come to Iowa so we can have an athletic PG that can shoot 3s and play lockdown defense and help us win a national championship. Let's recruit John Wall.

"Geez, Evil Monkey, why not just get Michael Jordan while you're at it...."

Even better yet. That way we'll be that much more of a lock to win a national championship. I'd rather stack the odds unfairly in our favor than be "part of the field". Good call. :)

Hadn't heard about the PSU players, but it wouldn't surprise me. They were really high on having PSU retain Ferry as HC.

It will be interesting, Reed, Schutt, Filipowski, Nickel, Fox, Bowen, and anybody else Fran likes
