Without Evelyn stepping up . . .

That would have been a disaster. Can't give the kid enough credit. Hit some crucial threes, made some great drives, played solid D, and most of all, settled things down enough for the Hawkeyes to regroup and win a game in which they committed about 25 TOs. That's not gonna happen very often against a good opponent on a neutral floor.

Evelyn had been pretty much overlooked until last night. Not any more.

Thanks, Bakari, for hanging in there, waiting for your opportunity, and taking advantage of it. You saved the Hawkeyes last night. Tremendous performance.

He hadn’t been over looked until last night. To be honest he looked overmatched most of the year, but last night stepped up and was the player of the game. I think he realized there wasn’t any reason to look over your shoulder if you make a mistake. Those 2 early 3’s were huge. All credit to him.

Experience matters. Evelyn looked good. Besides the TOs. But the whole team was turning the ball over like crazy. And we still got the win! Tell me we commit 25 TOs against Cincy and win, and I call you nutty.

BE's composure was shown. And he looked hungry out there. He may have just earned the starting role. I hope he gets it. And becomes a mentor to Joe T and his future. That could be a great benefit for Joe and the Hawks. IMHO

Should be a great film to study off of for the Hawks.

Bakari's defense on Jarron Cumberland was great! I remember one of the late possessions, game on the line, Cumberland had an iso from the wing and BK jumped his right hand and stopped one of Jarron's patented Melo-esque drives. Cumberland had to launch a flat-footed 3 that missed badly. It was like that all game! Jarron did better when he got switched off of Bakari but that was a heady play.
