No doubt. For next season especially. Only Iowa team that has a real shot at accomplishing greatness…Spend the nil $$ on the women’s team
I think she is coming out of the draft b/c she already knows where she is going.
Rebound, put back points, catch passes from Clark, and don't miss from inside of 5 feet. If she does that she will average 20-25 points a game and have a great opportunity to walk away with a ring.Morrow put up 800 shots last year, 200 of them 3's. Only connected on 25% of the 3's. This may be a product of the fact that they only had a 16-17 record, but she would need to be willing to cut back on those numbers to fit in at Iowa.
She left the bench after the first half of their game with LSU last Friday. Teammates were happy she left. Maryland was not unhappy when she left last season. I doubt too many top programs will take a chance on her again.
Ashley Owusu would never play for Iowa (most Maryland players have beef with Iowa / throw shade toward us -- some of it is jealousy, some of it pretty warranted, (i.e., our defensive deficiencies, our melanin deficiencies)) and she is also a SG which we have no room nor need for.
It's kind of pathetic tbh. We seem so desperate for a team that just went to the NC.
Raoul also remarked that it was sad how so many of our fans are tweeting about pushing people out.
Perfect fit for Mulkey the peacockShe left the bench after the first half of their game with LSU last Friday. Teammates were happy she left. Maryland was not unhappy when she left last season. I doubt too many top programs will take a chance on her again.
Coach Harmon didn't start following her because she tweets funny memes. There is interest there. We have a team. We have no room for another player. Ava Jones is a Hawkeye. This whole thread makes me sick to my stomach. It would be interesting for all of those here and on twitter wanting to push current players out, how many support WBB financially and with season tickets.
I get what you're saying and I don't want people getting kicked ever. We don't know if people are going to transfer out or not and the coaches likely do. If that's the case, you strike when the iron is hot. It's not us taking it personal here as it's just speculation on our parts. We, as fans, just want to get back and maybe win it all this time. We have no say in anything and are along for the ride with this. If we can get a player of this caliber and someone is already transferring, great. Nobody is wanting anyone pushed out.We have a team. Don't want her anyway.Ashley Owusu would never play for Iowa (most Maryland players have beef with Iowa / throw shade toward us -- some of it is jealousy, some of it pretty warranted, (i.e., our defensive deficiencies, our melanin deficiencies)) and she is also a SG which we have no room nor need for.
I wouldn't be surprised to see her at LSU, Tennesse, Ole Miss or South Carolina. She wants to start and she wants to win. Someone will sign her, drama be damned.
Don't think this reaction is warranted. Players transfer out every year and it will be no different this year. I don't like guessing which specific player may transfer because it implies I want them gone which is not the case. There are some players who know they may not see the court much again next year. Heck, Bluder and co. probably directly will communicate this to them.We have a team. We have no room for another player. Ava Jones is a Hawkeye. This whole thread makes me sick to my stomach. The nice part about being a fan is we don't have to figure this stuff out. That's what the head coach gets paid to do, among other things. Also, the head coach knows more about the current situation we do. To assume nobody is going to transfer out is a very naive viewpoint to take. Very few teams have nobody transfer anymore. It might not be as frequent in women's sports, but it still happens. A lot. It is not unreasonable to assume that someone will be moving on to another team. If they don't, well, that says something too.I get what you're saying and I don't want people getting kicked ever. We don't know if people are going to transfer out or not and the coaches likely do. And nobody is against Ava here. Her story is tragic. I've not seen a single person mention anything like that. She has the scholly and it won't be rescinded. She will get her education for free regardless. All that I've stated is that I'll think she eventually takes a medical hardship at some point and it'll be her decision. If she doesn't, that's fine too. Bluder has already stated she has a spot and nothing will change that. I agree with that sentiment as well.
I agree with this sentiment. With today’s landscape, I would expect someone to transfer out every year from every team. It would be silly not to talk about it and would show a lack of awareness as a fan base. I personally don’t follow pro sports outside of baseball for this very reason though. As a life long Cubs fan, I’ve had such a hard time watching them without Rizzo, Bryant, and Baez anymore. I get attached to the players on my team and I want them to be life long Cubs/Hawks. If no one transfers out, then it’s just further proof of the type of program Bluder and her staff have created at Iowa and that they really are a family. The nice part about being a fan is we don't have to figure this stuff out. I have had a hard time watching the Cubs too. Less so because those players are no longer there and more so because the players they replaced them with generally suck, or they get good and then refuse to sign them back on so we are back at square one again. It seems she already knows where she's going. Likely when she declared for the draft, coach/es reached out to her and said hey we have a spot. She found where she wants to go and withdrew. How about Sedona Prince from Oregon 6’7” but injuries have been a problem.

I wonder what the reasons were for Taiwo to TCU, Meyer to Drake, and Jensen to Creighton these past few years. 100% player initiated?I get what you're saying and I don't want people getting kicked ever. We'll never know...I wonder what the reasons were for Taiwo to TCU, Meyer to Drake, and Jensen to Creighton these past few years. 100% player initiated?
Wow tell me you don't really follow this team without telling me you don't follow the team.I wonder what the reasons were for Taiwo to TCU, Meyer to Drake, and Jensen to Creighton these past few years. 100% player initiated?
No way that Ava Jones should not be a gray shirt offer. That would free up a schollie, wouldn’t it? She is not physically capable of playing this year and possibly not even in a couple of years.Bluder needs to find a way to make this happen. If she ends up at South Carolina....
I just asked; thank you for your answer.Wow tell me you don't really follow this team without telling me you don't follow the team.
Taiwo was a grad transfer. We only had room for one of our seniors to take their COVID year and Bluder chose Czinano. Taiwo finished her 4 yrs of eligibility at Iowa. With no room, she decided to transfer.
Meyer and Jensen both realized they were never going to start at the 1 so long as Clark was on the roster and both correctly assumed that Gabbie wasn't coming off the 2 either. Both very reasonable transfers.
Lmao no.How about Sedona Prince from Oregon 6’7” but injuries have been a problem.
Bluder said we'll cover her scholorship. She also commented to a reporter that she's doubtful that Ava will ever be able to play at that level again. Honestly she's between a rock and a hard place on this. But, she may already know whats going to happen and we don't obviously, so we'll see what happens. Ava will certainly get a free college education. Whether she'll play basketball again remains to be seen.I get what you're saying and I don't want people getting kicked ever. It doesn’t matter. Moot point. The ncaa isn’t making making exceptions. There is no point in whining about it. Can we stop? The medical scholarship rule, I understand is I guess to keep schools from cheating. But, for schools that would like to use it in an honest way, needs to be changed. U of I should be able to use it for Ava for one or two years or more, and if Ava is able to play, for example her 4th and 5th year at Iowa, she should be able to. Think how cruel that would be to Ava, if at that time she was able to play, but the team she has supported and come to love as her family, is now told you have to leave. Maybe there is some other solution and I hope so. But for now, Lisa and Iowa are doing the right thing. No way they could ever kill that kid's dream.
I know no schollys are available but Aneesah Morrow played forDepaul just hit the portal is 6-1 with great numbers playing in the big east, make it work Lisa go get her
