Let Iowa State have the Cuban connection and Iowa can have the Japanese connection.Spencer is great friends with Takuto, he has mentioned it many times in his interviews. If Iowa could bring him in it would be an absolutely massive win. Having his brother here for 2 years probably doesn’t hurt our chances.
It likely means you have the OP on ignoreI could only see this post from the overall Forum List page and not from the Wrestling Board. Does that mean I'm blocked?
Regardless, love Real and sad to see him go.
Translation of Japanese text:
It’s the 2021 74 kilo Japan Olympic rep.
Let Iowa State have the Cuban connection and Iowa can have the Japanese connection.
To be honest, i am against foreigners competing on college teams but if Americans are going to compete for other countries, it’s time to change my outlook.
Because I have no allegiance to team full of foreigners. It’s called being an American first and being proud of my university second. But, as I said, I am reconsidering my outlook being that Americans are starting to compete for other countries. So the university is open to all but sports teams are only open to Americans? Why?
Screw you, Tory Taylor. I guess.

I think we can all agree that college sports have gone way beyond the intended "way to improve an education by helping a kid to be well rounded" I mean now the kid can have as many as 7 or 8 years in some cases to compete in their sport with redshirts, only redshirts, medical redshirts etc. Not to mention the amount of money kids are getting. The education seems irrelevant now.So the university is open to all but sports teams are only open to Americans? Why?

So I can see how someone might be disillusioned and fed up with what is happening. We just keep getting further away from something that is pure and closer to a greed based structure.
There is very little we can do about it, but we do not have to like it or celebrate it if we do not want to.
I thought that but double checked and I don't. WeirdIt likely means you have the OP on ignore
Huh? Foreigners aren’t barred from college sports. Methinks you see the Hawks’ need some good fortune (=bad fortune for the reigning leaders) to get to the top, and you’re thinking solely about what untapped roster move can get your squad there. No shame on that. In fact HVI was abuzz with the thought that Higuchi could be lured to HV like 6-7 years ago. This doesn’t explain why foreigners should be barred from college sports. But thanks.
Nobody said they should be barred — the suggestion was nobody wants to see a whole team of foreigners. Don’t be so dramaticThis doesn’t explain why foreigners should be barred from college sports. But thanks.
All right! Mystery solved in less than a day.
I am not saying foreigners should be barred. I am just venting. Going out to get foreign guys and loading up with star because you have money seems to take away from the purity we like to think exists (although it may not). Maybe we are too old fashioned or living in la la land. This doesn’t explain why foreigners should be barred from college sports. But thanks.
That pic wasn't taken in Iowa. There is glass to the outside world.
They are receiving a lot of money, however many of them are working towards their undergrad and masters degrees, it’s not like these guys are losers who win the lottery and piss it all away.I think we can all agree that college sports have gone way beyond the intended "way to improve an education by helping a kid to be well rounded" I mean now the kid can have as many as 7 or 8 years in some cases to compete in their sport with redshirts, only redshirts, medical redshirts etc. Not to mention the amount of money kids are getting. So make your point clearer (maybe take off your hat?).Dude my 8 year old could follow the convo better than you just did.
My posts are clear. You’re apparently not capable of following a conversation. So make your point clearer (maybe take off your hat?).
Mark of shameI thought that but double checked and I don't. Weird
