Worse collapse? 2016 or 2014

I think this year is worse given we were ranked #3, had a 10-1 BIG record and a 2-3 game lead in first place. I honestly don't know if it's coaching or if our seniors (Woody, Gessel and Sapp) are just head cases. It's quite frustrating and disturbing!!!

I've never felt so disappointed and let down by a team as much as this one. :-(

This year, there was a reason for the 2014 one. Unless there is something going on we don't know about. This one shows a trend that shouldn't be occuring 6 years into a tenure.

Northwestern, Penn State, and now Illinois...seeds #11, #12, and #13...none of them had anything to play for, and they all embarrassed Iowa...three straight years. Unacceptable. Totally pathetic.

Meanwhile, UNI has won two straight MVC tourney titles, and when they gave the ball to Washpun with the game on the line in the title game last weekend, he didn't fumble it away nor throw a wild pass. He stepped up and hit the game winner.

Washpun, from Cedar Rapids, was able to do that because, moments earlier, Jeremy Morgan, from Coralville, had hit a cold blooded 3-pointer. UNI is everything Iowa is not. It would be justice, I suppose, if the two were matched up in the first round of the NCAA's and UNI ran Iowa outta the gym. And they would. Believe me.

I'm sick of seeing the same old Hawkeye movie and Fran doing nothing about it but do his best Donald Trump impersonation in the postgame.

Totally unacceptable. Embarrassing. Inexcusable.

Of course this year. After starting 10-1 in conference play, all Iowa had to do was go maybe 4-3 (favored in each game, some by double-digits), and win 1-2 BTT games to get NCAA first two rounds in Des Moines and regionals in Chicago. It was a dream setup. Instead, end season 2-5 and yet another BTT flameout against a team with a losing record. Devyn Marble got criticized for lack of senior leadership two years ago -- all I can say about the lack of leadership and attitude of this year's senior class is "WOW."

We have to wait and see what happens in the NCAA's. If Iowa loses to a lower seeded team, then I would say that 2015/16 would be the most disappointing season of the 2. If Iowa wins a game or 2 in the NCAA, then 2013/14 gets the nod. That flameout was spectacular.

Pretty sure it had a lot to do with Gesell going like 5 for 46 on his last few games and McCabe playing a lot of minutes and shooting extremely poorly from 3pt line in B1G play. Fran was distracted, the Gesell/Clemmons/Woody group have been part of both debacles.
