...so that they could get a handle on how to fulfill all the ticket request and still fill the students request! There is a high likelihood that ALL home games will be a sellout!!!!!
They did in the 2021-22 season so it’s not a stretch.I would love to see Bluder's bunch win the regular season B1G title next year. It won't be easy but I believe they can.
They’ll raise ticket prices for women’s games.I posed this question in another thread. What if the Iowa woman outdraw the men this year?
Fans like good players/teams/results......... huh....so that they could get a handle on how to fulfill all the ticket request and still fill the students request! There is a high likelihood that ALL home games will be a sellout!!!!!
Carver does suck. But you’re not wrong, I wouldn’t attend a men’s game with Fran….but was hoping to buy season tickets for the women this next season, guess that won’t be happening! This is the final nail in the coffin of the debate about why Carver attendance lacking for men's bball games. Tipoff time, day of the week, weather, TV options etc are all thrown out the window........attendance is 100% based on the product on the court....
This is also called front-running/fair weather fans. Everyone loves a winner! This is the final nail in the coffin of the debate about why Carver attendance lacking for men's bball games. Tickets sold and attendance are different things. Wrestling was sold out last season and a few meets weren't close to full. This is the final nail in the coffin of the debate about why Carver attendance lacking for men's bball games. You're right, but there are still real problems with CHA that affect the atmosphere. This is the final nail in the coffin of the debate about why Carver attendance lacking for men's bball games. Correct. I never did buy any of these excuses, as a lot of those things were still present 30 years ago when CHA was still full and rocking. This is the final nail in the coffin of the debate about why Carver attendance lacking for men's bball games. At a few of the women's games I've told my kids Carver used to be like this every Big 10 men's game. The early season there were some poorly attended games, but they used to sell out every Big10 game. I would occasionally get tickets for my b-day and remember it being such a huge treat. They are, of course, in disbelief but are huge fans of the atmosphere at the women's games........Correct. The men's team had great success in the 80's, and that enthusiasm carried over into the 90's. Then started to dwindle, especially during the Alford years, and beyond. The Lickliter era chased off any possible remaining enthusiasm. Fran has done a solid job, but this just proves that we need a good tournament run to draw the fans back.
Anyhow, I didn't want to make this another thread about the men's program when the women deserve their time in the sun. It's awesome that the fans are supporting them!
They should be ok for as long as Clark sticks around. I'm guessing that will be 2 years. After that, it's anyone's guess as to what happens. It's going to be awfully hard to find someone in the same universe as CC. So, I'd expect we'll see some regression back to where Iowa was pre-CC.......top half of the BigTen, possible NCAA tournament.......Nothing to be ashamed of, but not Top-10 material......Just wait until they start losing. Carver will be a tomb again.
Pretty sure there own fans disrespect them too by not selling out games…Does this happen anywhere else? UConn? Tennessee during the Summitt years? Does LSU sell out their womens games?
Just wait until they start losing. Carver will be a tomb again.

100pct, women's bball and wrestling season tix are an amazing value but if wrestling was finishing 10-20th each year instead of near the top with a natty thrown in the attendance would be much different. This is also called front-running/fair weather fans. Everyone loves a winner!
"If" ????I posed this question in another thread. What if the Iowa woman outdraw the men this year?

As they shouldSo they can raise the prices.
I don't know if that's true. Iowa women look like they might be able to pull off Clark to Betts to Malegni to Greenway.Reality my friend. Reality.
What makes you think he wouldn't?It will happen. Hope Fran handles it with class.
