Slow day so some Hodge-podge stuff: Interesting fund raiser this week at Mike Poeta’s training center is the Chicago area (Lake Forest; see attached). Attended last year’s fund raiser and this is a lot of fun. This year’s program has strong University of Iowa flavor including some great young wrestling match-ups.

· Dan Gable as honorary coach
· Royce Alger as entertainer (comic)
· Patrick Brucki vs Jacob Warner (Iowa recruit). This could be a great match, although Warner captured the Illinois Freestyle title this weekend at 220 lbs. so not sure how this match will play out.
· Trevor Chumbly vs Danny Pucino. Heads-up on the Pucino kid. Only a freshman but Iowa wrestling is high his list. Won the Illinois state freestyle championship this weekend (Cadet Division). Tech- fall and/or stuck all opponents. From same school as Joey Gunther, kid is very talented, quick, strong, explosive offense. Watch him at Fargo.​

If you are in the Chicago area on Friday,stop-in. A guaranteed good time, great wresting fellowship, great food, (? Entertainment, Royce), and great young wrestlers.

If Delgado isn't the perfect example of "Karma" I don't know who is. His comments about McDonough, while injured, ended up bringing him the exact same misfortune his Senior year. 2-2x defending Champs that didn't even AA their Senior years due to injury.

This event is on Saturday May 13th. Not Friday as it said in the post.

I live about 20 mins from Lake Forest but unfortunately have plans that were set up before I knew about the event.

Abas is 39 years old. That seems like an odd matchup unless I'm missing something.
