With WTT's behind us, what are the upcoming events of interest that will get us to the start of next season? I'm asking so I can pace myself and ignore the majority of threads that focus on F*** State, improper use of the slang term "Jap", how Flo and the majority of the U.S. wrestling scene has an anti-Iowa bias, etc.

Here's what I got coming up:
- July - Official recruiting visits allowed for upcoming high school seniors.
- August - World's in Paris featuring HWC Thomas Gilman.

What am I missing and when do we expect next season's schedule to be released?

Also, with all the emphasis on donating to the HWC, I think it would be helpful to state the specific plans and goals for the club that are attained when specific thresholds are achieved.

Good idea, AF! As for your last point, there's a lot of work being done right now to prepare that message, and it will be coming out loud and clear very soon.

WWDM is correct--I may disagree with the very soon part..lol We are taking our time and evaluating in detail just about everything we do-- it will take some time.

Overall we want to provide resources so we can get top coaches, athletes in the club. Having a strong club helps the collegiate team get better. In last several weeks we have added Mark Perry and Jesse Delgado--- this is a start-- more to come.(soon)

Speaking of wrestling topics, did anyone notice that the sport will have two fewer wrestlers per weight in the next Olympics? 56 wrestlers in all (male and female). That means that we are now at 16 per weight which makes for perfect brackets, but the big downside is that qualifying for one of those 16 slots just got harder if you are close to marginal such as Molinaro who squeezed in.

They definitely snuck that in. Still you're talking 16 different countries that get to be represented at each weight. We shouldn't be having guys not represented as one of the 16. I think with the influence of freestyle being more important ( it was always important to the wrestlers) to the fans, I'm guessing this helps keep graduating stars in the game for a couple of years after graduation.

This definitely be challenging for our weaker weights, hopefully the US can get them all qualified.

6 or 7 years I hope iowa sanctions girls high school. We are looking for female coach for little kids program. Would anyone have any great candidates. We are just out side quad cities. I wonder witch in state D1 college will be the first to offer girls wrestling

My bad, Randy -- maybe a little overly optimistic on my part! I guess "soon" would be more in line with reality. Definitely want to do things right, and we'll take whatever time is necessary, but Hawk fans can rest assured that the work will get done in as timely a manner as possible.

Copy that WWDM. My point is there will be increased, sustained likelihood of success if folks understand what they're "buying."

Exactly, AF. And I can tell you that this very concern you raise has been brought up by more than one person involved in work behind the scenes. It's a very valid one, and it most certainly will be addressed, along with many others.

The club at PV has a girls' coach and you might ask Hawkeye Wrestling Club member, Lauren Louivre. I've seen her at a clinic and she is good with kids.

A discussion on whether USA Wrestling should just anoint the 57kg/(possibly future 55kg) representative from the HWC as the world team member automatically, i mean at this point the WTT tournament is a mere formality ;).

2014-Ramos (HWC)
2015-Ramos (HWC)
2016- Dennis (HWC)
2017- Gilman (HWC)
2018- Gilman (HWC)
2019- Gilman/Lee (HWC)
2020- Gilman/Lee (HWC)
and so on until they retire... :)
