I’m pretty careful who I follow on Twitter or IG, though Paige seems pretty safe.
My 16 yo son was telling me his group of friends scout out each others Dad’s follows and make fun of them. My son said I would not believe the amount of NSFW accounts that so in so’s dad follows. After than convo, I removed a few follows.
These guys haven't figured out X is garbage in garbage out. If you follow political stuff on X, if you click on political stuff on X, then X will feed you political stuff. Yeah, maybe you now see a torrent of right wing stuff now because it is not supressed anymore.
For me, 95% of my For You tab is sports, golf, hockey, and funny stuff like Super 70's and Midwest v Everybody. That's the garbage I click on and follow so that's the garbage X feeds back to me.
Not that hard to figure out.

I never posted on X/Twitter but my for you and following are almost always the same except for the ads. If you comment on other people's X accounts who you do not follow, they will now be in your for you, as you interacted with them. For example, Chis x account where he posts messages to all the mean politicians, then his for you will all be the politicians he posts a temper tantrum about. Works as planned, shows you who you follow and interact with, if it's not what you want it's your fault.
My "For You" tab rarely mixes in politics. It is mostly sports, entertainment, funny animal videos, etc. I will get some MAGA types, "Republicans against Trump", and other assorted political types sprinkled in once in a while, but I can live with that.
Before Musk bought it, my "For You" tab was almost exclusively left leaning dorks like JoJoFromJersey, BrooklynDadDefiant, Ron Filipowski, etc.
My Twitter experience is much much better than it was before Musk came along.

Kill your social media accounts.
With all the pearl clutching about how social media is damaging society, and how it is bad for kids, there should be a lot of people deleting their accounts and setting the example for their children.

You and I use Twitter VERY differently.
My follows are probably 75% sports, 5% news - mostly local, 5% people I know or am related to, and 15% entertaining/funny accounts and/or people that I follow.
I never used it before nor after he bought it. I pay little attention to it.
as a maga guy I can tell you for sure I never trust musk as far as I can throw him. he is a rino disguised maybe republican at best. I think he's one of you, libs.
