Fuck YEA CMAC

Really is not worth the time he gets. He makes a couple plays and some of you cheer and are like,,, see,,, toughness.
sometimes you can win with the wrong player on the court because the other five carry your ass.
you must be thinking of girls basketball teams you coached back when it was a 6 person game. “you can win with the wrong player because the other five”. yeah, that would make six.

Lol. I started this thread because i was happy for connor you drunk idiot.
Leave Reynolds out of this. You and a lot of the "fans" are feckless Clowns. My post after the Wiscy game covered that including Iowa would win vs Indiana.

I will give credit where it's due. The performance Kris had was phenomenal, but without Connor stepping up as a leader, Iowa loses IMO. The team was softening like too ripe bananas late in the first half, but Connor got them going with some deflections on D as well as some boards/steals. He hit a 3 and his second was in and out--credit him for taking open shots and making guys guard him.

Side note, TJD for Indiana is a class act. Super talented, but not a jerk and win or lose, he mans up in the handshake line.

So does anyone know what really happened here?
First off he was getting mad about all of the poor calls going against us. On that last offensive possession the guy guarding him was holding him as he was getting ready to come off a screen at the end of the half. Connor was pissed off and kept throwing the guys arm off him. It looked to me (from about 100ft away) that he was yelling foul as he went to throw the guys arm off him. He was confronted the ref. I could lip read that he yelled at the ref "that's a freaking foul".

It was pretty apparent what Connor brought to the team tonight. He was helping move other players around on defense and does a good job getting the ball in play at the end of the game. He brought the ball up the court after Ahron had it stolen from him and played solid defense. A lot of this does not show up in the stat lines, which is why many fans on here complain about him constantly. He does probably play too many minutes in most games, but his leadership on the floor helped Iowa make the comeback in the second half last night.

Great game by Connor. Although if I was the ref I would have called a foul when he went and ripped the ball away from dude at the end. This ain't football.

Also I'm not sure if it's been discussed, but probably one of his smarter plays came at the end of the first half. Indiana scored with like 33 second to go, Connor bent down to grab the ball to inbound, but then stopped and let a few more seconds run off the clock before doing so. That made sure Iowa would have the last shot of the half and wouldn't have to fire up some shit shot with 5 seconds left.

Asinine move. He had no one there to complain to. Certainly not the refs and certainly not an opposing coach. He has a REAL anger issue.

Not an asinine move,.. Indiana coach was jawing on the official about Iowa's play and Connor decided to join the conversation to support his team's position,.. no anger issues.

Noticed this too, said the same thing at the time. On top of that in the last 3 minutes, he let 13 seconds go off the clock before calling timeout and our playclock hadn't started.

You are probably right with this thought as I said the same thing but the way these refs call a game is on them. It almost becomes a football game!

Mental toughness would require you to not bitch to the ref every single call. Either during live play or dead ball.
I get that you are not a big CMac fan, but if you don't understand that he is one of the leaders of this team, maybe you don't understand as much about the game as you think. The most talented player is not always the team leader.

This wouldn't have been as bad if Connor hadn't also taken to Twitter a few days ago to publicly take on the refs.

I could be wrong, but I doubt this approach is going to do us many favors with the refs moving forward.

But at least we all get to see what a tough kid Connor is.

Why is Connor talking to the refs anyway?
Uh, ever watch a college basketball game? Players from every team in the country talk to the refs all the time. It's been going on for quite a while now. Back in the day that almost never happened. Now it's as common as, well, Republican cult members who want to take the US back to the good old days of slavery and the Wild West.

Indiana players were getting away with foul after foul, travel, goal-tending, you name it, yet when they actually WERE called for something, they almost always found a ref to complain to about it. Go back and look at the tape. Dare ya.

BTW: Iowa smoked Indiana in the second half despite their 8 on 5 advantage, and it was because of toughness more than any other single factor. Diving for loose balls. Crashing the boards. Playing with energy on defense. If Iowa doesn't stand up for itself, nobody else will, that's for damn sure.

CMac doesn't take any crap and he isn't afraid to talk with the officials. That toughness is badly needed by this team. Gutsy performance tonight. Great breakout game for Kris.
CMac may not take crap but mouthing off to officials and the other teams bench is about the best quality he brings to the floor. Sorry to say it but outside of a couple nice entry passes he doesn't bring much to the table. It's not like he's a game changer every single night. He is rarely visible most nights, couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, and doesn't rebound much either. I just think some people here overrate him is all....

Connor acts like the kid whose Dad owns the business.
He does. And I guess he was the star of the game last night. Meanwhile, I thought Kris Murray with 29 and 11 was. Didn’t realize Connors intangibles won the game for us. Funny. Cmon guys, he hit a shot, hustled his ass off and didn’t really hurt us last night. But let’s not act like he was the star of the game.
