But trying to guilt other people into supporting an objectively shitty product is, indeed, very sketchy. You're right to be a little suspicious of that, I think. I am.

The players are doing what they are coached to do with the ability they have. It's up to the coach to put the best players he can recruit on the court and coach them up with a winning style.

I don't see B1G conference stats, but we have to be the worst in 3pt shots allowed and given up. We've given up several 50%+ shooting games from 3pt line in conference play--which used to be a rarity.. Then the post/paint defense is no better. It really is is a good offensive team with an all time bad defense/rebounding.

I'm sorry we lost, actually thought we had a chance. You guys that didn't watch the game, missed a good one. The boys played hard and got to within 6 several times, couldn't get over the hump. We are undermanned and over matched, both criticisms of Fran and the way he recruits. His substitution pattern is, at best, questionable and our lack of rebounding is at a level I have never seen before. Fun game to watch other than the result

Fran rode Brock and Pryce way too long in the 2nd half, going away from Drew and Seydou both of whom produced on the defensive end in the 1st half. Purdue with 36 in the 1st 20 minutes.

Of course I defend the FB program. It's like one of five programs nationally with 8+ wins in the last 9 non-covid seasons. The only clown show is your description of the program.

As for bball, we've been over this before, but I have no idea how you're accusing me of defending the program, or being on Fran's jock. That is 100% inaccurate and made up on your part.

I support the bball program, in terms of being a Hawkeye fan. I go to some games. I watch them all. And I don't talk trash about the team in public or on the internet. I cheer for the team, as I cheer for any Hawkeye team. That's non-negotiable, absent of some sort of immoral behavior in the program. That's what being a Hawkeye fan is. You cheer for and support your teams.

But no, I've never been on Fran's jock. I have no idea where you've gotten that idea. I've never defended the negligence on the defensive end of the floor, or some of the other obvious deficiencies of the program. And believe me, I've been aware of them for a lot longer than the rest of this board. It was obvious to me what "Franball" was probably 3/4ths of the way into his 2nd big game at Iowa.
