Well, no. For something related to space station astronauts I would tend to believe a space station astronaut.
But there is more that goes into this - at least for intelligent people. One can compare the tone of the words being exchanged and make a judgement about which person appears to be reasonable and which one appears not to be. And one can judge the likeliness of each person's position. In this case, Mogesen appears to be the more rational, and his position seems far less, shall we say, fantastic. In general many of us tend to view conspiracy theories skeptically, especially when they are unsupported by any evidence.
But, again, this is how reasonable and emotionally intelligent people form opinions on these things. I fully recognize it isn't how everybody does. As Jonathon Swift said, "You cannot reason a person out of a position he did not reason himself into in the first place.”
