Too damn cold to snow. That was cool
we were supposed to have a good storm come through a couple weeks ago but it ended up being nothing. The lighter shades of blue means Iowa hasn't gotten more than a foot - and most places have gotten between 2"-6" - for the entire season (so far). I looked up last week, CR has gotten 3.4" so far, but those were in a half inch here, a half inch there...dustings only. Parts of SW Iowa apparently hasn't gotten more than a single inch total so far - yet look at that swath across NE Kansas and NW Missouri (1-2 feet).
For the record, the long term predictions from the NWS in November was that it was going to be for the upper midwest cold and somewhat dry Dec-Feb this season.
They pretty much nailed that 100%.
This map is just crazy...parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas have gotten more snow than Iowa.
Other parts of the country and setting record lows in temperature and getting more snow than in years! That was cool
Or like last year we'll get a million inches of rain in the Spring and then no precipitation again for months. The drought will continue.
We had over 4" at our house in Atlanta last week. Supposed to get a dusting tomorrow with more accumulations south of us.CR has gotten 3.4"
Yeah. 6 inches in the Chicago area so far this season but I haven't had to break out the snowblower yet.The lighter shades of blue means Iowa hasn't gotten more than a foot - and most places have gotten between 2"-6" - for the entire season (so far).
