I'll guess that Iowa comes out at 9 in the AP as well. Probably will look something like the following:

It's as if the AP let down their guard and said, 'ok, they're not normal Duke' and the coaches went 'yea but their still Duke'. I'd guess that stabilizes next week depending on their results this week.

They must take into account that SMU is ineligible for postseason

Correct. The coaches poll, in both football and basketball, never includes teams that are on probation or that are ineligible for the post-season.
