Credit to Sorensen too. He may have been the favorite, but he widened the gap. The board was pretty tough on him earlier for not winning by enough.

Yes Iowa HS has been down, but I really believe we are on the come up.

^^^^^He's not wrong you know. The lack of contending of this program is closely related to the downfall of the wrestling in this state.

It's not helping, that's for certain. That said, Iowa has the ability to recruit Nationally with anybody, and we haven't done that too well either.

For starters, Iowa HS wrestling needs to improve. When Brands, Teske and Thompsen are the best we're putting out, we're not helping the college recruiting. The only native Iowan stud on our roster is Sorensen.

Many of the past great Iowa programs like Eagle Grove, Osage, Lewis Central and Clear Lake are a shell of their former selves. We're not routinely putting out the Schawb, Ironside, T&T Brands, Whitmer type talent we used to. We should be able to depend on 3-4 homegrown studs in this lineup ever year.

X 1000 , but you'll get an argument from a few stubborn fans that Iowa HS wrestling hasn't fallen. Objective fans know it's fallen... real far, and it's going to be a challenge getting back to being a top 10 high school wrestling State.

I think we have....we will have Lee, Kemerer, Marinelli, Warner, Lugo, Stoll, Murin plus Cassioppi coming in. That's a lot of out of state money. All top 20 guys but you need some help locally. PSU and tOSU have that and can recruit nationally. Look at Michigan as well.
