Trump Media shares were up 12% at $ 46.38 after gaining 7.9% on Friday.
Former President Donald Trump’s nearly 115 million shares in the company were valued at around $4.8 billion at Friday’s closing price. That figure includes 36 million earnout shares Trump was set to receive after the stock price fulfilled the requirements of the award last week.
“In just a few years Truth Social has amassed millions of users and our user base is rapidly expanding every day, though it’s unsurprising to see the politicized media cherry pick some unreliable estimate to downplay our success,” a spokesperson for Trump Media said in an emailed statement.
An agreement between Trump and Trump Media requires him to make any of his personal social-media posts on Truth Social first and wait six hours before posting to Facebook, Elon Musk’s X, or elsewhere, although the restriction doesn’t apply to political content.
