He most certainly he is...he thinks the recruiting process should include him as much as Xavier.

I agree with Legend here.

The rumor on 247 was that his dad was shocked when Xavier said he was going to announce his top 3. There's a belief that's why he's since held off.

Plus his dad rather than Xavier has been the primary interviewee. In several articles he actually inferred that he's running the recruitment.

I really don’t have a problem with a parent controlling or being involved in recruiting as long as the kids wishes are in mind. Many kids that age don’t have the experience or even desire to make big decisions.

Each kid and parent, and their relationship, are different, and our opinion doesn't matter. The father doesn't sound that controlling, and it seems like it will be a joint decision. Unless a parent's interest is mostly looking beyond college to the NBA, that should be a good thing for Iowa. As a parent, you know that Fran is going to look out for your kid.

Any parent with a brain would be involved in their kids recruitment....all of us want what’s best for our kids and going completely hands off would be a mistake. OBVIOUSLY it’s their choice, but as a parent you would want to protect your child from the unscrupulous con men out there. Very few people at that age have the life experience of an adult. That said, some parents can be the victim of celebrity salesmen, or other improper inducements.

I do expect a final three, but all that I was told tonight was that he would release a list of his finalists on Saturday. No timeline on a decision, but I expect him to sign in November.
