My best friend from Luther College, is from USC (the MN one) and therefore a Gopher Fan. But as he's sitting with me at Nationals, he's promised to root for the Hawkeyes. He's even started reading HR, so I told him that I was kinda a "big deal" on HR and he asked if it was "pat yourself on the back day" which is the kind of friendship we've had for 30+ years.

After Midlands which he followed here, he said, "you really are a big deal" and added "I'm getting a T-shirt for Nationals that says 'I'm Vall's Friend' "which he might.

So if you see that T-shirt in Mpls and since we have a Mabe's pizza bet on Zach Glazier's Hawkeye career, feel free to tell him that he's gonna lose.
