True, but there wasn't much of a run game to abandon. The drive Petras through INT got into trouble when stretch play got blown up and it was 3rd and long. That was after two runs. If you have chitty blocking OL you aren't going to run on decent defense.

NW could be predictable and conservative with that possession. Iowa has demonstrated they can't move the ball the entire game, save for 1 drive which resulted in a fg. No better time than now to prove me wrong.

Because they can't run it. Team just really looks like they have no interest in playing this year. Won't throw the towel in on Petras, but this is is 3rd year on campus. At this moment in time, Big 10 football way, way too much for him. You can't win games with QB play this bad.

This is bogus. They've played hard all day. Just not quite good enough to get off the field on 3rd down these first two weeks, and the QB play is not consistent enough to score.
