    High School 2 Point Takedown

I think it would be interesting to do a survey from both former and present high school wrestlers and coaches as to their opinions on making some rule changes. Like two-point takedowns, no riding time, 2,2,2 periods, and something I know I am probably forgetting. Two minute periods I think I...

    High School 2 Point Takedown

I was just curious. That's all.

    High School 2 Point Takedown

I watched some of the tournament matches and noticed right away that they are still awarding 2 points for a takedown. Why aren't they following college wrestling and the 3-point takedown? Is it just Iowa or is it standard throughout the country?

Clark: Decision to Come Back is...

Sad, but the correct decision for her if she elects to go that route.

Last night was a perfect example of how unselfish CC is

CC knew who had the hot hand last night and took second stage to Stuelke. How people make CC out as a ball hog and plays the game just for herself and gobbling points in recond fashion, well, last night's game was a big middle finger to Swoppes and all the rest of stupid "analysts". And what was...

Payton was dealing with stuff outside of basketball

My dad from Dementia/Parkinson's 7 years ago. We knew it was time to put Dad in a care facility when one night he ran out of our home screaming at the top of his voice, "Help me, help me. She (mom) is going to kill me. Call the cops." That is a nasty disease. It just feels like when you have a...

    Artic Plunge

I made it down (first timer) and won the costume battle. The plunge was a bit iffy. I've never wanted more to be in a sauna! I could have spent the rest of the evening in there. It was a great time. Had the opportunity to meet and greet with some wrestlers and coaches. Darn cool event. Cross it...

    Kelsey Plum Assists v. Clark

Plum had a high of 4.8 assists in her junior year. Clark had an average of almost 9 last year. The point is, if Clark "shot 40 times" a game she would have climbed to first in scoring already or close to it. The way she trusts her teammates is pretty amazing. A ball hog she is not!

    Clark's Shooting Motion

I noticed that too. Her shot is more side to side than over and over. I thought that was just a hiccup the first two shots she took, but now I think that's just the way she shoots.

    Grades = Blaugh

Not very entertaining except for PK. Was hoping like heck that Ben wasn't going to pull a Nash. That would have been a real Irrrggg (another way of saying frustration).

    Clark's Shooting Motion

Just making some comments. Not judging. It's just that I haven't seen a player with that kind of mechanics before. Going way back Jamaal Wilkes (“Silk”) from the Lakers had very odd mechanics, but it worked for him (hated him. I was a Larry Bird/Boston Celtic fan) to the tone of 2 NCAA...

    Artic Plunge

I am signed up for the Artic Plunge (my first) and I am wondering, how cold do the temps need to be for a postponement or a cancellation? I'm not trying to be a wimp, but man it's cold!

    Clark's Shooting Motion

I'm not sure if I would teach someone to use the same shooting motion as Clark's. She almost never goes straight up and down and lands on her left leg more than both legs and fades to her left. What is more, given that she doesn't have the greatest shooting mechanics I wonder how she is able to...

5 or 6 games left on Peacock. The powers that be are pure geniuses. PURE! GENIUSES! I wasn't able to find Peacock and then I did. However, once I thought it was all figured out it wouldn't stream. I had to have a guy (actually 2 guys) come out and help. It took them a while but finally got it to...

    In Season National Broadcast

Was last night's game the first one of its kind for a regular-season women's basketball game? I think that Cheryl Miller while at USC they spotlighted parts of a game on ABC's Wide World of Sports, but I don't believe it was a full game.

Media last night was wrong ... Hutmacher is NOT the first 4-time SD state champion. That title belongs to

I knew that that reporting was absolutely stupid. Somebody didn't take the proper note-taking. It was quite insulting. Lincoln's dad did not want Lincoln to wrestle as a true freshman and he looked right because Lincoln got destroyed by a Northwestern wrestler if memory serves me correctly. The...

Number 1 and 2 Go Down on the Same Day

No. 1 Purdue fell at Nebraska 88-72, while No. 2 Houston lost its first game of the season at Iowa State 57-53. According to ESPN Stats & Information, it was the first time since Feb. 6, 2016, that the top two teams in the AP men's college basketball poll lost to unranked opponents on the same...

*****Iowa (W) vs Purdue Game Thread*****

There are a lot of people out there who struggle with the weather. It's called Seasonal Defect Disorder. If you are from a sunny state, like Florida, California, Texas, etc., it can be very difficult to adjust. I had a couple of friends who struggled with that and eventually left the state. The...
