0-10 in Quad 1 Games

and 4 out of the last 5 games are Q1 (only Wash is Q3)

national ranks:

scoring D 337th
rebounds 324th
fg % D 346th
3 pt fg % D 248th
free throw % 264th

but we are still 9th in scoring offense
How are the Hawks not at least on the bubble with numbers like those!?

Hell, that's 'Top 16 seeds' material right there!

....... *pfffft* probably not even for the CBI or CIT

If the rules for CBB were similar to those of flag football - basically no real contact allowed by defenders - then Fran would be King of the World with his coaching philosophy and style.

There is still a chance Rutgers might become a Quad 1 win
4 more Quad 1 games remaining

As opposed to the clutch and grab defense Oregon used? Thought I was watching Izzo’s MSU team with how much holding Oregon did on cutters and off screens. Tough to play both basketball and football at the same time!

I hate how unbelievably physical the game of bball has become in the last 10+ years, but just like NIL and the always open transfer portal, its here to stay.

So either adapt to it or have one of the worst defenses in all the land on a near-constant basis, like Fran's teams have been.

I used to think those stories of Izzo having his team wear football pads and helmet for practice was stupid and overboard, but now he looks like a damn genius. Watched part of the 2nd half of the Wisconsin at Purdue game last weekend, and that was a battle royale on both ends.

I don't like the "foul all the time and force refs to whistle everything" that is 'defense' in CBB, but its the total norm and has been for years. Adapt or flounder.

Yep, it's the way the college games is officiated. It is what it is.

Fran never accepted that reality and the results are what they are.
