1 month polls show Trump historically underwater; big negative numbers

Fair. But the signs are pretty obvious. I guarantee Trump’s team sees this and would not be surprised in the least if this is why they are testing the message on a $5K handout.
From what I understand about polling these days, it's difficult to do because there aren't home phones anymore, caller ID, etc. And since I haven't seen the nuts and bolts of the polling, I can't say where these people are from being polled, and where their true allegiances lie.

I think the thing that should be concerning for team Trump is that these repeatable polls show his support slipping which is what happens to every president after inauguration including Trump 1.

So after you trained seals stop rejoicing in the “bad news” for Trump and rooting your asses off for American failure.

Get back to your mantra of 1939 Germany, Hitler, fascism, end of democracy routine

We just hope that this is the first republican administration since Reagan that doesn't lead us to a recession. Let's go!!! Wooo! lol

Trump is getting insanely bad press now. It's easy enough to avoid bad press on the campaign trail because he mostly spewed out gibberish that could be ignored. But now we're getting actual results. And those results are baaaad.

He will have to kill the press soon. Because if he doesn't it's hard to see him weathering so many failures on a daily basis.

He got insanely bad press from the Marxist lib press before the election.
Weathering????
What do you suppose happens to him? His cabinet picks are being confirmed at alarming pace and control of both houses.
Weathering?

True. Every president gets a honeymoon period. Very similar to what Harris got when she first became the nominee after Joe dropped out/was forced out.

None of these polling numbers are accounting for the horrific statement on Ukraine and Zelenskyy by Trump and our cuddling up to Russia this week either. They are going to lose a ton of good will from that. In fact, the people behind the scenes must be absolutely freaked how obvious he is being about his support of Putin and Russia and the obvious and hard to ignore question it brings about him being truly compromised as many believe to be the case.

I will also add so much stuff is destabilizing the economy due to Trump and Musk that if we plunge into a recession suddenly, 70-75 percent of country will blame them. It will be impossible to spin away except for the true core 25-30 percent MAGAs that will accept any treachery or horribleness.

Oh I have been this civic minded and against bad govt and liars since about 1963. Almost everything I hear on Msnbc is correct when I hear about before hand or afterwards. I have seen so much lying on Fox News that it sad
They love to attack MSNBC but there are a lot of real Republicans hosting shows who they agreed with before Trump came along. Everyone there has been giving the same warnings for years. Not to mention, MSNBC didn't settle for 787 million dollars for lying to their viewers. Fox admits they are lying and dupes accept it as the truth.

Killing the free press is definitely on the docket.

You mean a tax rebate on the money saved? This isn't the governments money contrary to liberal orthodoxy.

Shouldn't you be getting yourself ready for your day of school?

We will still be losing trillions by the GOPs own projections. It’s not like we achieved a balanced budget here. So if you take money now all you are doing (quite literally) is borrowing from your children’s future.

Why is this so damned difficult for MAGA folks to understand. We haven’t solved the deficit and until we do any rebate/dividend like this is literally printing new money.

You dont like her??? She is very smart, a Bach degree from Stanford, winning a Rhodes Scholarship and getting a PHd at Oxford. Are you that educationally accomplished, Zappa man.

Degrees in Public Policy and Politics, she knows more than most people by far and is way smarter that the dumpster. And she was reporting factual results of polls, whether you dont like the polls is one thing
Ted Kaczynski was super smart.

I’m not a dem and have been talking about the deficit for years under Trump and Biden both,

We should all give a damn about the deficit regardless of party affiliation.
I do give a damn about the deficit. 100%. People should have noticed the deficit a long time ago and started, as Elon is, to look for ways to trim departments and ensure we aren't wasting money. Which it appears we clearly are. So this is a move in the right direction for sure.

Since it is apparent the federal government is nearly incapable of spending our money responsibly, I'd prefer to have it back so I can spend it responsibly.

Additionally, Trump is, in fact, talking about putting some of the money towards deficit reduction. 40% of it if I have heard correctly.

Unless we put all of it, and then another couple trillion per year, we aren’t actually solving anything. We are on;y allowing the problem to grow worse at a slightly slower pace.

It's the Torbee thread 2.0.

Republicans and Independents are maintaining or rising, dems are flat lining. If you iver sample one way or the other, your going to get that result.

Agreed. People like Elizabeth Warren don't even think deficits matter. Id be all for a taxpayer wide line item veto.

I file my taxes and at the end I get to fill out a form in which I get to elect which programs I support.

So, Neil deGrasse Tyson, a scientist, is an expert in economics and policy but a more successful Elon Musk, with a track record of business efficiency, can't possibly be trusted to improve our government?

Got it.

This is all simply about who parrots what you already believe not being convinced by any one person or group to believe something you already didn't.

"Maddow’s show is different than a typical news segment where anchors inform viewers about the daily news,"

She does deliver the points differently by weaving together historical facts to point at current issues. It takes smarts to do that, way more than Judge whats her name on FOX and slimy liar Tucker Carlson.

But Maddow is very close to 100% factual because she doesnt get called out hardly ever by fact checkers unlike other OAN type outlets

I think they see this as a way for Americans to tangibly see the results of their efforts.

Maybe this wouldn't be necessary if the Democrats weren't trying to undermine the process and make Americans suspicious of these efforts. Parks won't be open, people have your SS number, Elon is unelected, 20 year old kids are in your records, FAA cuts made a Delta flight in Canada crash etc...

That is the problem. If everyone was praising this effort and 100% behind it we wouldnt need to show results. The whole of government would be proud of what is being accomplished and people would be happy with it. But no.

Seriously? It’s the Dems fault that Trump is going to make the deficit way worse because someone got their panties in a wad over criticism?

Get a f*cking thicker skin and grow a pair.

The process is THE problem for most right now. I'm not sure why that's so difficult to understand. I think the overwhelming majority support removing wasteful spending. But reviews/cuts/audits need to be done in an informed and legal/constitutional manner.
