Part of your last sentence is incorrect. Unlike the COVID payments under Biden which were funded by printing more money; therefore, contributing to inflation. However, if the dividend payments were made to the America public, they would be from monies clawed back from waste/fraud in gov’t agencies…not the printing of new money. In any event, Congress won’t approve such a dividend, so it’s a moot point.
You keep saying this. But there is no proof Musk can find even 1% of what we would need for these $5000 checks.

GOP doesn't care about reducing the deficit. They want to cut taxes for the rich that could pay it down with spending cuts.

I have no doubt there is waste and I truly hope they find it. But there are many hurdles before the savings are realized:
- Mis-estimated savings. We have seen numerous over-estimates already
- The role of congress. How they are doing the cuts has yet to be litigated. Many of these items are appropriated by Congress and it is unclear if they will have the authority to do all the cuts
- Mistakes - we have seen numerous ”savings” where they cut and then rehire
- They keep labeling things as fraud even though we then learn it was legitimately appropriated
