#1 OU goes down by 11

Iowa has played one game with a final margin in single digits since the ISU game in mid December. One. At Maryland.

I really don't think ISUs level of confidence matters much to Iowa.

Wagner, Baer and Uhl were non factors in that game in Ames and have been big part of the team from that point on. Two of them are hitting over %40 from 3.

ISU could beat Iowa again certainly but Iowa isn't going to fold up like they did in Ames.

ISU would have to put together two solid halves of ball and play much much better than they did on that day.
Because I can guarantee Iowa is vastly better than they were at that point in the year.
So your point is the B10 is a weak conference in basketball this year....... I would have to agree with you.

Quite! Worst part is they both joined in 2001, so clearly they are not just some annoying kids.
Lone clone is like a 70 year old retired journalist from Cedar Rapids. He has his moments. Sigh is just a flamer inbred, and I'm not sure why the mods don't ban him.

There bottom half of b12 is pathetic and ISU gets to play all of them. TWICE.

OU has been exposed several times. The b12 is overrated

That's not fair at all.... especially when isu is part of the bottom half of the big xii.

In only a few short months it has gone from definite top five team (with 'final four' in many of those plaudits) to still ranked, but nowhere near top five or even top ten. In a way, it is a shame that the season even needs to occur.

Demonstrates the strength of the B12 where the 6th place team has beaten the B10 leader.

Beat them prior to even a single conference game even being played when lowly Iowa was not even ranked by all of the omniscient basketball gurus in 'magical' Hilton...
by one point !

Yet, the A&M game (ten point difference) was such a close game.

Look at any metric you so choose now and each and every one predicts a different outcome if Iowa and isu were to play. Whatever false hope or confidence that you mistakenly think isu has some sort of lock on went by the wayside following the isu-UNI game. There is no 'magic' to save this group from the hand it has been dealt.

The season will play itself out. isu may even make it to the big xii championship again. Does not have any bearing whatsoever on the quality of the Iowa team and the season that the Hawks are experiencing. As a fan, I realize that. As a non-fan, it is easy to understand why you cannot.

The b12 has 6 decent to really good teams and 4 pathetic to horrible teams. Each of the top 6 play 8 games vs the bottom 4. That is not insignificant.

If your premise is true and accurate, what is demonstrated by the 6th place B12 team losing to the 7th place team in the Missouri Valley Conference?
Oh snap. ... (I hate that saying but it sure fit here) completely destroys ISU fans delusions

By 1 point, at home. Prior to Iowa figuring out their team. Both teams have come along way since that time. I will take the path of the top 4 team, thanks.

Iowa has a good team and no one is denying that.

So I guess the Clones figured out the Hawks before the Hawks figured themselves out...... OK Gotcha

The Cyclones didn't really figure out anything vs Iowa Iowa imploded. They played again it would likely be a double-digit game at Carver Hawkeye pretty easily and lower double digits at a neutral site. Iowa would even be favoured at Hilton right now

That is typically what folks in denial say. Think of it this way, hawks won the first half and the Clones were Just a bit more dominant in the 2nd half to win the game..... Again.

Oh jeez. Its like a team can't improve from mid december to mid February. Why not just do the tourney in December then? I dont think ISU would like its chances against the hawks right now. Especially away from Hilton.

At the end of the day you clones can keep dreaming about your mental toughness(coughmckaycough), and your superiority after your floor storming 1 point victory. I'm busy enjoying life in the top 5 and currently being on pace for a conference title and a number one seed. You should try it some time.

Deep down you know it kills YOU, because this was suppose to be your year. Don't believe me, take 10 minutes and read a few threads on Cyclone Fanatic. I can honestly say it's hilarious.
Cyclone Fanatic is awesome lol

Stop the presses... breaking news !

Or, perhaps you can point me/us in the direction of exactly where it is/was that you have acknowledged Iowa as a 'good' team before. Only 23 games in for you to make that determination. Has to be some kind of record.

(As for the denying part... there are still plenty of examples of misguided isu trolls - make that non-fans, that still cannot bring it upon themselves to see Iowa as the better team.)

The bottom of the Big Ten is a lot worse than the bottom of the Big 12. The Big 12 is considered the top conference by metrics because the strength from top to bottom

As soon as the selection committee starts inviting teams with the worst resumes, then you just might be on to something...

Until that happens, you've got little of nothing here. As of today's kenpom (the site of your choice earlier), the Big Ten is better/stronger/top teams 1 through 5 inclusive.

Now here is the really important part - these things are fluid, not static. They are very likely to change. Stating that one team/conference is so much superior than another is futile unless you want to look at the Ohio Valley Conference... that division that Steve Prohm came from has to rival the SWAC in terms of 'bad'.
