This team is stacked! If they can just keep Tua’s brains from being scrambled again, it could be a special season.

Part of it is on Tua. He needs to learn from Joe Burrow and quickly give up on plays that aren't going to work and get rid of the ball. As Big O and others have pointed out, most of his injuries pro and college have come from him holding the ball too long or moving around in traffic trying to extend plays.

He would also take a lot of pressure off himself and the OL if he gave up on the play call and ran when the entire defense has dropped back and is giving him 10 plus yards of open field to run. There was a good thread about this on FH last week. Steve Young did this every game and kept doing it until the defenses adjusted.

The above being said, the OL is still awful. It is basically 2.5 quality players and then trash. We expended a lot of resources on Austin Jackson and Eichenberg and they are both terrible.

The above is all true. Tua's first 2022 concussion came off a late hit from Buffalo. However, if I recall correctly, he held on to it too long there as well.

He played great after that hit and there is a lot of debate as to whether he had a concussion in the Buffalo game. He clearly had a concussion in the GB game and his numbers were night and day different after that play. The FSU qb took a much worse, but similar looking, hit on a TD throw vs LSU and he didn't have a concussion. That was also the only hit he took like that all season. The FSU OL is significantly improved.
