That was the difference. Half from off the bench too. Our defense was the best I have seen all season. My Gawd, if we shoot 25% from 3, it is a blowout! (well at least pretty comfy

Defense and 2nd half grit won this one. Loved seen all the blocks.
Those ten blocks are an Iowa record in the BTT. Wonder if that record ever gets broken?
That's what I'm talking about !! Pat McCaffrey, the Murray bothers, and Jack Nunge are going to be potent shot rejecters for Iowa the next couple of years.
PMac and Keegan both do a tremendous job of blocking shots and keeping ball in play.

They do a really good job of blocking shots and getting possession of the ball. Knocking it into the 8th row is nice, but still gives the other team a chance to score.
The weirdest thing for me, was that I was expecting several of those blocks. I can’t remember watching an Iowa team where I felt like Iowa consistently challenged shots at the rim like this. The defensive potential of McCaffery and Murray on the wings is going to really be something to watch over the next few years.
I knew we had a lot of great blocks in this game, and near the end I saw the stat was 10 blocks. Holy crap that's a LOT of blocks folks! Yikes!
Blocked 25% of their 2 point attempts, which is pretty crazy.
I don’t know, the Garza block, CMac save while falling out of bounds, back to Garza sequence was sweet, but Wieskamp putting Trice into the third row at the end of the game almost had me ready to run through a wall

I think Murray blocked Potter 57 times. I may have missed a couple though!
I mean I had no idea the team record was nine......
I'm assuming it was a tournament game back in 2001 or 2002 with Reggie Evans.
Or possibly with one of the teams Basabe was on when we set the season record for blocks.
And yet people ragged on Iowa forever about not being able to contest shots.
I think along with the improved effort in man to man, this has been one of the biggest keys to our sudden script-flipping of the defense.
