11th in coaches poll

It was a little interesting that the DSM Register this morning in an article recognized Iowa as 10th and not 16th as their media brethren have in their infinite wisdom, had voted.

We win by 5 1/2 touchdowns and we drop one spot? That seems odd.
Lose-lose from a national perspective. Only value isu brings is they bring intensity to the game that we'll see in conference play. Pundits don't see or care about that

I'm not going to gripe about where we are ranked at least until we play Wisconsin. That's the first decent team we play. We'll have plenty of chances to move up starting with that game.

Early season moving up and down at times sometime will make little sence. No reason to get upset over.

Polls this time of year mean almost nothing. My response to Iowa rising or dropping in the polls now is: Meh.

Since Louisville is probably the only other ranked/quality team Houston will face this year, it's important that they are ranked as high as possible to give Houston it's best shot at making the playoffs.

Polls just don't excite me the way they used to (I hope I picked the right spelling). Since the CFP with the selection committee, it just isn't the factor it used to be. It used to matter a lot if you were #2 or #3 and working out all the ways your team might get into the top two was sort of exciting. Now that's gone and until proven otherwise I'm working with the mindset that if we win, we are in, no matter what any poll has to say about it. They are basically a barometer of respect and popularity now.
