Way to early ESPN Top 25

The Clowns would get boatraced by anyone in the top 20. Miami's QB quit halfway and they're a terribly disciplined team. But they'll stay high because they're in a cupcake conference.

Illinois also way too high. Their schedule next year is painfully easy, with only Ohio State and maybe Indiana being actual tough games. They'll also stay in the top 25 for a majority of next year as long as they don't collapse.

Glad Iowa isn't in the rankings, didn't think they would be anyway. We don't deserve it, and until we prove we can beat a ranked team, we should remain outside looking in.

These statements don't seem to mesh:

A few key contributors are leaving on defense, but much of one of the better secondaries in the FBS is coming back.

Key losses: WR Jaylin Noel, WR Jayden Higgins, C Jarrod Hufford, OT Jalen Travis, S Beau Freyler, DE Joey Petersen, DT J.R. Singleton, CB Myles Purchase, S Malik Verdon, CB Darien Porter

"4. Iowa State is coming off a program-record 11 wins and many key parts on offense including quarterback Rocco Becht and the Cyclones' stable of running backs return next season. What's more is that the team in Ames has momentum. They beat Iowa this season, they beat Kansas State and had many other impressive wins before being swallowed up by Cam Skattebo and Arizona State in the conference title game. But Iowa State finished the season with a win over Miami and heads into 2025 with a lot of nice pieces ready to make a College Football Playoff run."

Lmao! I thought they were picking the Clowns 4th in the Big 12...but in the entire country? Sure. Seems plausible.

Still curious as to how the secondary is supposed to be a strength next year when they lose 2 safeties and 2 CB's including Beau 'the heart and soul of the defense' Freyler. And they couldn't stop the run as it was.

4th. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Problems stopping the run centered around losing their top 3 LB’s for most/all of the season. Further, I expect the secondary will be quite good once again though I wouldn’t call it our strength. Finally, I posted that link to give you an objective outsiders view of ISU pre-season…not because I agree that ISU is a top 4 team. Top 25….yes.

They're just picking ISU to win the Big 12, and with that goes the #4 seed in the CFP. So they are basically saying the Big 12 will be the worst P4 conference.
