I would have to say yianni. But it really all depends how seeding go at ncaasJust saw updated pre-season rankings came out and Eirman is 3rd behind Lee and Yianni. Eirman has traded wins and losses with both of these guys. Of the two who presents the bigger challenge for Eirman to get his elusive NCAA title?
So many people say this, without really knowing. Yianni has said he will go either 141 or 149, depending on what works best for the team (Cornell has Josh Saunders and Hunter Richard and others who can go 149; if Saunders can make and hold 141, then Yianni will likely go 149).I thought Yianni was going 149
Must be why Yianni was the National Champ last time he showed up.So many people say this, without really knowing. While Yianni's only loss was to Eierman (last ten seconds of the match his freshman year), Yianni has taken the last three matches and has also beaten (sometimes multiple times) everyone that Eierman has lost to (McKenna, Alber, Heil, Nick Lee a long time ago, Meredith).
That’s what she said……Eirmann has the opportunity to be the first ever (and likely only ever) to finish 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Be a shame if he missed his chance.
Do you have pictures of what she looks likeThat’s what she said……
Lee is really coming on strong. Seems like he’s the new sheriff in town around that weight PSu. Think he had some huge wins at Olympic trials. The Zain era was done before these last Olympic trials, he has 4 -5 guys in front of him now. I don’t see him getting to the top again at 65 or 70.Lee is really coming on strong. Lee
I don't know. I think there would be a very strong argument for Lee or Eierman to get the 1 seed if one of them was undefeated with multiple wins over the other. I would think it would make for a much stronger strength of schedule over Yianni and, since prior results aren't supposed to compute, especially since Yianni didn't wrestle last season, I wouldn't let Yianni benefit from that likely easier schedule.Yianni will likely be undefeated and get the #1 seed. Lee and Eierman will wrestle one another multiple times and be at #2 and #3. Will be a tough path to NC from the bottom half of the bracket barring some crazy upsets.
Hopefully that happens and then there shouldn't be any seeding debate! I am not sure there is another weight class where getting the 1 seed would be more advantageous.Don't forget about the duals in Florida.
If Yianni does go 41 this year, he could hit one(or both) of Lee and Eierman there.
In order for that to happen in Florida, Cornell will likely have to beat Missouri to get to the semi-finals, where they'd hit either Iowa or Penn State. Cornell doesn't match up well against Missouri (not that anyone does match up well against Missouri).Hopefully that happens and then there shouldn't be any seeding debate! I suppose that is possible, but highly unlikely. That said, stranger things have happened with NCAA seedings, that's for sure. The 2 seed may end up being the best seed to get. Lee and Eierman may end up wrestling 3 times prior to NCAAs and add in Yianni if he goes 141 at the Florida event. One of them may end up with 3-4 losses and end up the 4-5 seed.

Huh? Missouri? In order for that to happen in Florida, Cornell will likely have to beat Missouri to get to the semi-finals, where they'd hit either Iowa or Penn State. Cornell doesn't match up well against Missouri (not that anyone does match up well against Missouri).
No they've not. Everyone is still waiting including coaches. On the Rokfin event page it still says the format and teams going. Hasn't been updated in 3 months but have heard rumors of a format change. The name now says collegiate duals and has Penn st on the header. But the article hasn't been updated and no new article posted updating the format. Tickets are on sale already. They should announce the format. People are gonna travel and be really upsetHave the brackets/pools already been announced for the duals?
I’m still wondering what the possibilities are that Yanni even goes 141, it’s been said he would do what’s best for the team, but it’s also been said he would lean toward 149 all things being equal. Depends on how the rest of their lineup shapes up.Yianni will likely be undefeated and get the #1 seed. Lee and Eierman will wrestle one another multiple times and be at #2 and #3. Will be a tough path to NC from the bottom half of the bracket barring some crazy upsets.
Missouri always has a really good dual team. Very balanced, but don't have the top end scorers to challenge at ncaas.Huh? Missouri?
i think the latest intel has rivera staying at 141Huge drop off when you get past these three at 141. Rivera moving down and Wilson moving up really clears out this weight. You get 2 NCAA champs, a 4 time AA and then Dylan Duncan.
That would potentially help Iowa. I like how Eirman matches up with Seabass more than ADS.i think the latest intel has rivera staying at 141
MU is one of the more complete teams in the country. They might not have the Natty Champs, but they are solid top to bottom and could very well qualify all 10 weights out of the Big 12.Huh? Missouri?
just saw on twitter that rivera posted something saying stop asking what weight, but mention that his favorite numbers are 1,2, and 5... hmmmThat would potentially help Iowa. I like how Eirman matches up with Seabass more than ADS.
lol respect to him for the troll. he can't make 125just saw on twitter that rivera posted something saying stop asking what weight, but mention that his favorite numbers are 1,2, and 5... hmmm
It must Be a jersey thing, no way he is making 125 but if he did I would love it when Spencer tears him up.lol respect to him for the troll. he can't make 125
Yeah, as a dual team, Mizzou will be tough to wrestle this year. Damn 'em.Missouri always has a really good dual team. Very balanced, but don't have the top end scorers to challenge at ncaas.
Tough for whom? Iowa? LolYeah, as a dual team, Mizzou will be tough to wrestle this year. Damn 'em.
Compared to most teams? Definitely. They have some hammers that could win matches. Mauller, Jacques, O'Toole, Hawks/Kent, and Elam will be a handful for our guys at those weights.Tough for whom? Iowa? Lol
So, you’re saying we could shut them out?Compared to most teams? Definitely. They have some hammers that could win matches. Mauller, Jacques, O'Toole, Hawks/Kent, and Elam will be a handful for our guys at those weights.
Yes if Murin breaks through. So, you’re saying we could shut them out?
O’ Toole makes me nervous as sh*t. Tough matchup for the Bull. Very deep weight class this year at 165.Yes if Murin breaks through.
Same, don't love that match up. He has trouble finishing and O'Toole is as good as they come there. Kind of hoping he's down at 157.O’ Toole makes me nervous as sh*t. Tough matchup for the Bull. Very deep weight class this year at 165.
O’Toole definitely has some serious skills, the Bull said in a recent interview he has one job and they have been really concentrating on finishing. Looking forward to see Bull getting it done.Same, don't love that match up. He has trouble finishing and O'Toole is as good as they come there. Kind of hoping he's down at 157.
He's not.Same, don't love that match up. He has trouble finishing and O'Toole is as good as they come there. Kind of hoping he's down at 157.
Yeah - I like his interview talking about chasing 20k singles - tnt have him on the right track. The Zain era was done before these last Olympic trials, he has 4 -5 guys in front of him now. I don’t see him getting to the top again at 65 or 70.
Lee has leveled up and JE will need to have his absolute best stuff to get to the finals this year. I think we will see another level from Jaydin this year also.
