16 seconds since last W in Ames

Hard to believe, at least until you remember who our coaches were in the 2000's. Fran's teams have been better, and I forget the years, but I remember two straight trips where a 6-8 point lead or so was coughed up inside the last minute. One time, I thought we were up by about 20 in the second half... and lost.

Ugh.

I think the 20 point lead was the 2015 game at Hilton? That game pissed me off. That and the 2013 year at Hilton

Luckily this is the year Iowa breaks the losing streak at Hilton. Iowa wins 82-77. Garzilla needs to score 20+ and as a team we hit 10 threes. Game over.

We need a pulse on D hold them under 70 and it is a W....
That's true too. I'm honestly not as concerned about this game as some. The only reason I'm concerned is because it's at Hilton. The games I've watched and the ISU friends I have talked with gives me the opinion that this years ISU team is not as high powered on offense. Specifically, their three point shooting isn't even close to being as dangerous as recent ISU teams. Haliburton will make some good plays but I think the match-up I'm most concerned about is Bolton.

The Lafester Rhodes rape in 1987 will be indelibly etched in my head until I die.

That was an amazing performance, he was dropping in shots as soon as he crossed half court

I think he had like 8 points at the half, which it makes all that more crazy. He hit 11 shots straight and not all were layups

I'm not concerned about this game either because I don't think we will win. If we do I will be completely jacked but we haven't won there in 16 YEARS!!!!!!! Let's Go Hawks! Break this streak!

You can throw the stats out in these games IMO. For some reason playing Iowa gives ISU players super powers. It would not surprise me if Grill and Nixon go off from 3 tonight. If the game is close, Haliburton is about as clutch as it gets.

Is that the game where Utoff had 30 points at half, and then disappeared in the 2nd? Strange game.....

I remember that...it was almost like Uthoff was TOO dominant. Then, he cooled off/ISU doubled him every chance they got, and no one else stepped when Iowa needed it.

That was a frustrating team - fairly talented but it lacked that alpha-personality great teams have. We had that the year before with Aaron White, and lately with Bohannon, but Iowa frustratingly had a 2-3 year stretch where I'd argue where we had more talented teams that underachieved because we lacked that alpha guy who wanted the ball with the game on the line.

Unreal that it's been that long. I haven't watched a single ISU game this year but I know they've lost a few.

Love to see a win tonight, especially with it being on national t.v.

They up and down and talented/guards per usual. They haven't shot well this season so expect them to make everything tonight.

Actually, they have shot well, away from Hilton. I would like ISU's chances more in Carver. Win or lose, I am hoping for an injury free game for both teams. Would be cool if the state could get three teams in the Dance.

They were 250+ from 3 actually before Seton Hall, 30% as a team.

Ugh.

Gessell missed around 4-5 free throws including one and ones and lost 1 game. That is why Jbo is so valuable...need a closer that makes FT.

Other loss that hurt Uthoff went off in 1st half, Jok for most of the game...but no one else could score...lose on last second shot.
