18.7 million

Where’s Pmac?

Also, the only sporting events this decade to eclipse that number were a couple Olympic events, NFL games, NCAA CFP games, and the World Cup Final.
If that 18.7 number is correct, this past season’s NCAAF regular season tOSU-Michigan was higher (19.07). Didn’t check any other year.

Amazing number and probably larger if the game had been played in prime time.
Would it really though?
If that’s truly the case, why is the Super Bowl still played on Sunday?
I wish more championship games were either on a Saturday/Sunday or much earlier if they are on a weekday.

Not a chance I was staying up to watch the UConn vs purdue game last night.
I also don’t understand why the ncaa football championship game is always on a Monday night. They play pretty much every college football game on a Saturday before the championship game.

I’m more willing to tinker my weekend to watch a game then stay up late on a Monday night and pay for it the rest of the week.
But I know, I’m probably the only one that feels this way.

1. The Superbowl is a quasi holiday and family and friend gathering event.
2. The superbowl starts at 6 pm eastern time? and ends well into primetime.

Probably the NBA Finals.
Basically, in this moment and probably through draft and WNBA debut, she is the biggest star in all of basketball, men or women, college or pro. It’s truly amazing and great for women’s sports. Uncharted territory. Closest we have come is Serena Williams for a bit, but that is not a team sport nor one of the big American Sports.

And how many “units” are paid for NCAA March Madness for WBB ???
ZERO.
Criminal.

CC's marksmanship on those long 3s are incredible.
But I prefer to watch the 10 minute youtube highlights cuz an entire college basketball game gets tedious. There, I said it. No hate, just honesty.

Iowa women ran a gauntlet and almost pulled it off. Had they won, it may have been the greatest NCAA tournament feat in history.
And it would have silenced the multitude of people tearing her down now just because she didn't win a ring. As if taking fricking Iowa to the precipice TWICE isn't good enough. As if twelve points is all that would make her great and now she's not. It's hate at an amazing level considering the facts. Not to mention an unhealthy amount of racism (from both sides).

The Super Bowl is played on Sunday because of money. I emailed the NFL back a few years and asked why not play it on Saturday. They actually replied. They said most visitors to the host city arrive on Thursday and leave on Monday, equating to X amount of dollars to the host city. Their belief is that should they play the game on Saturday people would still arrive on Thursday but now leave on Sunday, causing a 20% drop in revenue for the host city. It has nothing to do with TV, people will watch the Super Bowl any day. It has everything to do with the almighty dollar and the host city.

I wonder why they wouldn’t try doing the same thing with the ncaa football championship then? Or any other one day championship?
Can’t imagine people arrive Thursday for a Monday night game.
Id bet the get to town on Saturday or Sunday and I’d bet they leave town already on Tuesday.
