As sucky as 2020 was, that season did happen for all but the tournament that made things official but there is no disputing we were the best team. PSU loves to conveniently ignore that season since the end never happened but plenty enough happened to demonstrate they were inferior.

Chaz Tucker (Cornell) was 32-0, and was a senior with no chance to return for another year.

In 2020 Purdue was dealing with injuries. PSU could have finished 5th in the B1G instead of 4th.

We should have won 2020 and 2021. Instead, we should have won 2021 and 2022. Of course, we didn’t foresee our current issues, so it hasn’t played out well.

Shoulda, coulda woulda… isn’t wrestling earned on the mat? I think Minnesota still has Wrestling National Champions tee shirts left from 2014 when they were “supposed to win. No one knows what kind of upsets or injuries may have occurred for any team.

It’s kind of hard to prove yourself “on the mat” when the tournament is cancelled, dontcha think? Iowa was healthy and days out from the tournament, and had the rug pulled out from under them.

It is earned on the mat. We have to settle for owning the Big Ten in 2020.

How do you feel about the Big Ten Tournament where the last actual wrestling did indeed occur? The Biggest Tournament in the country that was actually wrestled, Iowa won it handily. There's your Champion. Enjoy.

They were not getting outperformed. You can tell yourself that if it makes you feel better. PSU had no 125, Verk was seeded like 19 at 149 and was not scoring crap. No 157, no 285. Shak was seeded 21 at 197 with an 8-6 record. Wasn't happening.
