Michigan St picks up a late '22 recruit. Unranked on 247 and does not appear in the Rivals database. Other offers: Duquesne, American, Eastern Michigan, and Vermont.
Walk-on or scholarship? The article didn't say.

Scholarship I believe. On his 247 profile it shows him as a Michigan St scholarship offer.Walk-on or scholarship? The article didn't say.
That's what a crappy coach who can't recruit the portal will get you!To sum, MSU has lost their top 3 scorers from last year in Christie, Brown, and Bingham, plus a decent bench piece in Julius Marble. They have yet to add anyone in the portal.
Great stuff, love that infoRan across these facts this morning..
B1G 1st team returning: 0
B1G 2nd team returning: TJD, Dickinson, Edey
B1G 3rd team returning: 0
B1G Freshman team returning: Hepburn, (Diabate not expected to return)
Like I've been saying, it will be a completely new look Big Ten this year outside of those 3 Big men.
Not done. Likely destination for Nance if he withdraws from draft. He may stay in, though.
Yeah, I've seen that too. I'll say that Nance will have a lot of suitors if he does withdraw from the NBA though. Mayer was heavily rumored to UNC all the way up until today, so things can definitely change. Seems like Illinois' NIL slush fund they had set up for Kofi is getting put to good use on the portal though. Not done. Likely destination for Nance if he withdraws from draft. He may stay in, though.
I hope so! Spend it if you’ve got it.Yeah, I've seen that too. I'll say that Nance will have a lot of suitors if he does withdraw from the NBA though. But it's not like MSU is paying their players....That's what a crappy coach who can't recruit the portal will get you!
😉
Steal if you don't got it Fran!!!I hope so! Spend it if you’ve got it.
No,no,no. Why rush these things? Let's sit around a year or so and see how these things play out before we jump onto the NIL bandwagon. What could go wrong with this plan?I hope so! Spend it if you’ve got it.
Maybe donors aren't stepping up for the NIL bandwagon. Have you gotten your checkbook out yet ?No,no,no. Why rush these things? Let's sit around a year or so and see how these things play out before we jump onto the NIL bandwagon. What could go wrong with this plan?
Should I just make it out to Cash and mail it to Barta? Athletic Department taking a long time to figure this one out while other schools are lining up players that we were pursuing. This is doing things "The Right Way?"Maybe donors aren't stepping up for the NIL bandwagon. Have you gotten your checkbook out yet ?
Tell us what you know about what exactly is being done. I'll guess it is "nothing" since you have no inside info nor are you a donor, but please enlighten us.Should I just make it out to Cash and mail it to Barta? Athletic Department taking a long time to figure this one out while other schools are lining up players that we were pursuing. This is doing things "The Right Way?"
Yet you are clueless. You don't have any idea what is being done, do you? You're right BB. I don't have any inside information. Why don't you tell us of the magnificent plan Barta is thinking about putting together with you having all those marvelous inside sources? All I know is that players we are attempting to recruit, are choosing other schools and the obvious difference appears to be Iowa being behind in the NIL race.
BTW, I am a donor and have been for decades.
You are correct: https://www.on3.com/nil/news/on3-guide-to-nil-collectives-around-the-nation/Maybe I am missing something BUT it was my understanding that the school/athletics department can’t/doesn’t run this…it’s an entity separate from the school basically run by “boosters” …..is that wrong?
Yeah I’m not really for or against Barta….but I think those fans blaming it on him that this isn’t done yet are off base…..not his responsibility nor does he have any authority to get it put together. You are correct: https://www.on3.com/nil/news/on3-guide-to-nil-collectives-around-the-nation/
But I am pretty sure that schools/ADs are responsible for monitoring compliance with NCAA regulations so they will probably require some reporting. That may not be important to some schools, but I would think that it is at Iowa.
I don't think that any school's AD can participate in forming an NIL collective within NCAA guidelines and rules, if what I read is accurate. So all Barta is doing is the compliance due diligence.Yeah I’m not really for or against Barta….but I think those fans blaming it on him that this isn’t done yet are off base…..not his responsibility nor does he have any authority to get it put together.
Feels like McConnell has been there for about 10 yearsToday's announcements:
Michigan's Houston & Diabate stay in draft
Nebraska's Trey McGowens stay in draft
Rutger's Caleb McConnell returns
Great information, thanks for relaying this stuff.........With the return of Kris Murray Iowa seems like a team that can compete in the upper level of the B10, much like they did this last year.Today's announcements:

I love the Hawkeyes (as most here do) and I can't wait for both football and basketball seasons. I want to enjoy the football season (and will) but I cannot wait for basketball!
Holy crap! He could have a PhD by now!
Henn's 5th team in 7 years (1 RS, 1 medical). Averaged 8.8 & 4.6 in the Summit last year.
