2025 Concerts

Had noted a few Id like to make happen, but nothing booked yet.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Michael Marcagi, Oliver Hazard, Vampire Weekend.

Was looking at Coldplay in Madison, too.

Thanks for that - I'll check them out. It looks like they'll be nearby here in March.
Shoulda been in Winston in the '90's/early 00's. Ziggy's was one of the top music venues on the east coast. I saw Matchbox Twenty...Phish...Wilco...Flogging Molly...Insane Clown Posse...the Black Crowes...Skid Row...and, of course, Ziggy Marley (it's not named after him) all in a place that held maybe 500 people and I don't think I ever paid more than $20 for a ticket. This was a typical month and I was at several of those shows including the Ramones.

Man, I'd have been at that place all the time! There's a lot of good bands on there! Billy Goat was a band from near where I grew up in TX. That's awesome!

I would love Reggae Rise Up. Looks like a blast. Love these: Slightly Stoopid, Elovaters, Mihali, Rebelution, SOJA, Pepper, Tribal Seeds, Dirty Heads and The Movement.

Just missing Stick Figure!
Stick Figure has been missing the last few years here in Florida. We saw them at the RRU in Baltimore a couple years ago. Not sure why they are always absent from the Florida event.

I’ve seen Dirty Heads 6 times, they never disappoint, so good. Hoping to get to my first Little Stranger show this summer. Also hoping to get to see J Boog at some point.

I saw Ballyhoo! and Shwayze at the Wildwest a couple years back. Small crowd, like maybe 150 people tops, and Ballyhoo! posted their displeasure on IG but to their credit they embraced it at the show and really engaged with the crowd. Wife and I got a pic and nice convo with Shwayze too.

Other thing I’ll say is I was incredibly impressed by Howie’s voice live. Walked away more of a fan than I expected.

There were people who pretty much lived there. I think it was Leftover Salmon that was scheduled to play one night when a snowstorm hit and took out the power. The band played an acoustic show in the pool room under lantern light for about 100 people who braved the conditions. I missed that one, but I was about ten rows deep for this one I found. It'll give you a sense of what it was like at that place.

Shwayze…. That’s a throwback!
Saw him in Iowa city back in 2009.

So far...

Went and saw the Josh Abbott Band at Billy Bob's in Ft Worth on 1/4.

Going to see Orpheus and Eurydice in 2/15.

Going to see Rock Orchestra by Candlelight on 3/14.

Going to see Les Miserables on 3/21.

Thinking about going to see Disturbed on 4/26. Not sure yet.
Just added The Black Keys on May 23rd to my list. Got an email for the pre-sale for their new tour. Jumped in and got pretty good seats.

This past weekend, I did something out of the box which I'd never done before, and went to see Boris Berman give a classical piano recital (Schubert and Debussy). It was quite good (especially the beautiful Claire de Lunes movement) if a little dull. And honestly, piano is really not one of my favorite instruments. Classical concerts are always a bit strange in that literally no one says anything, and I find it sort of takes about ten minutes to get your head around that and listen properly.

I am going to see Steep Canyon Rangers in April at the Birchmere. (Sadly, was not in town for either Ricky Skaggs or Del McCoury earlier this year).

I am eagerly awaiting the big reveal of the Lime Kiln Theater summer schedule in March.

Wallows at vibrant this Friday.
They were ****ing terrible. I described them as a super shitty, slightly more fem, version of Weezer. The crowd was 18 year old girls and random middle aged gay dudes.

Nobody drank, not a ton of energy, whiny male voices.

* it was funny though, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As I was walking out some young lady literally said "best time ever" with her friends and I'm like..... that was a dead fish show.

Metallica twice in June. One in Atlanta and one in Santa Clara. ****ed up on an impulse pre-sale purchase for Atlanta thinking that all their dates were the double shows. Found out that Atlanta was not and decided to go to another one. Taking my son to Atlanta and going with the wife to the other.

Being that I live in Ukraine and some time in Poland, I haven't really been able to see anyone yet.
I did book The Revivalists at Red Rocks in October.
You've got to get plugged into the local music scene!

Oh yes. It been challenging as I work 11 to 12 days when at the clinic. It's a new experiment and just need to get this hammered out before I can relax. I will definitely do this though.

Goose 2x in Milwaukee, February
Greensky Bluegrass in Chicago, March
Billy Strings 2x Rosemont, June

Considering Sting Cheese Incident at the end of this month.
Just picked up Les Savy Fav tickets for July at the Empty Bottle (best live band ever) and Black Country, New Road for May at the Salt Shed. Stoked! I don't like not having a few shows in reserve.

I was actually thinking of going over to the Empty Bottle tomorrow for some honky tonk.

Thinking of seeing Luscious at englert in IC in May...anybody seen them?
Toying with Jazz & Heritage Festival last weekend in April...anybody going?

I’ve got tickets to Bob Dylan next month. I’ve never seen him and have heard mixed things. Looking at his most recent setlists, I’ve got some freaking up of his catalog to do. Anyone seen him?

After seeing a ton of shows last year, I don't have a single thing planned for this year. Nothing really jumps out at me.

They absolutely rocked the place. Jam-packed. I saw them at the legendary Ziggy’s sometime around 2000 and they haven’t lost a step.

Sweet. I'll be seeing them in Orlando in a couple of weeks. Saw they had to cut short their show at The Caverns over the weekend, due to severe storms & power outages.

Only current plans are Future Islands in May, Ben Folds with Omaha Symphony in May, Rilo Kiley in August.
