so I won't/can't overreact. At least I'll try not to.
They played fast, which was good and bad. Hopefully they develop filters that help them make better decisions and cut down on the bad ones. If this offense plays more efficiently, they could be dangerous.
Guards were aggressive and tentative and overmatched in this game. They need to shore this up before the conference starts or there'll be blood in the water. Game needs to slow down for both JoBo and CW.
Defensively, let's not talk about that. It was a horrid effort. I'm confident the coaching staff will use this game well to teach them what can't happen again. And I'm sure they'll get better. How much better will decide their fate this season. Can't play defense like that and be successful. As well as Jok played, I felt like sitting him for a stretch until he committed himself to better defend his position.
Cook is a monster. He prob won't play like that every game, but WOW! He needs help on the defensive end, also. He is the best dunker this program has ever had. No offense to Whitey or Doug Thomas or Gerry Wright fans. He is ferocious and got the fans out of their seats.
Free throw shooting needs to improve dramatically. They will be at the line a lot, so get better.
I'm glad they played this kind of competition when they did. It was like a conference game in November.
The bench was hesitant. Need more production.
