Nov 26 CFP Rankings: 1ST ROUND BYES for Oregon, Texas, #6 Miami & #11 Boise St. Power 2 Conferences DOMINATE 12 Team Field(4 B1G teams; 3 SEC teams)

Commentator “it’s beginning to look like maybe only one team from Big 12 will make the CFP.”

It’s looked like that for about six weeks, bud. It’s beginning to look like they may not get anyone in the CFP.

BYU playoff chances with a win tonight 62% and 29.3% with a loss. BYU is the only “deserving” team from that conference.

#9 BYU outscores Utah 12-0 in the 2nd half and pulls out the 22-21 win on the road.

Looks like BYU will hold on to the #4 seed (and a 1st round bye in the CFP).

2 of the top 12 lost.

The next rankings will be interesting. Who's gonna get the 4 byes this week?

I didn't see how it ended; officiating decided it??

4th and long with about a minute left for BYU near their own 5. Play happens with BYU taking a sack near the goal line and Utah should have taken over on downs. But there’s a flag…. Holding on the Utah CB. BYU marched down and kicked a fg with 3 seconds left. Utah coach gets an unsportsmanlike while Utah is returning subsequent kick off. He was pissed.

Thank you. I didn’t see it either. Was the call legit?

Probably??? But very weak. Something I’m sure happened 40 times before this on both sides without a call. Looked like hand fighting near the LOS.

Can’t find the video to link.

The Utah AD got fined for his postgame comments where he said the game was "absolutely stolen" from Utah and that he was "disgusted by the professionalism" of the Big 12 officiating crew.

#9 BYU (9-0) is hosting 3-6 Kansas Saturday night.

BYU is only a 3-point favorite.

This is just one more sign of how bad the Big 12 really is and how a team like BYU does not deserve a first-round bye in the CFP.

are you ok with a team like BYU getting a bye?
I would be in favor of changing the seeding and eliminate reserved spots for certain conference champs. That could also be a way to eliminate the conference championship game which I would be OK with.
Given this is brand new this is a minor beef. I've been waiting for a playoff of any kind for more than a decade. The four team format was barely a toe in the water. This is the first true playoff format, I'll give it some slack as it gets started.

yea... I don't like getting rid of the Conference Championship Games..
they could expand to a 16 team format and have the runners up get a bye and the winners getting a double bye

not sure how smart these guys are, though.. that run the show

1 Georgia
2 Oregon
3 BYU
4 Miami (FL)
5 Texas
6 Boise State
7 Indiana
8 Notre Dame
9 Ohio State
10 SMU
11 Army
12 Minnesota

this is who the top 12 should be..
Tennessee and Alabama shouldn't even be in the top 25

but if Alabama is able to beat (FCS) Mercer and if Tennessee is able to beat (1-8) UTEP... I might change my mind

the NCAA has got to figure out a better system
in no world is minnesota a playoff worthy team

I wonder if Curt Cignetti goes to another school next year NC, Auburn, Utah, Oklahoma all really need a coaching change and willing to pay up crazy $$$. Clemson and FSU can’t because of the crazy contracts Swinny and Norvell have but I’m sure fans are calling for them to be fired. Instead of teams waiting 4-6 years perhaps teams will look at Indiana and want similar results, 2-3 year contracts for coaches, larger schools poaching smaller schools for coaches as well 🤣
I think Indiana is already working on restructuring his contract

#17 Colorado (8-2, 6-1) destroyed Utah today, 49-24.

The Buffs continue to control their own destiny in chasing a Big 12 championship game bid.

#6 ranked BYU currently sits at 6-0 in the conference. Colorado is 6-1. The remaining 14 Big 12 teams all have 2 or more conference losses.

#12 Georgia (8-2) beat #7 Tennessee (8-2) yesterday, 31-17.

Georgia has played the most difficult schedule in the FBS, according to ESPN's College Football Power Index, and has the third-best strength of record, which reflects whether an average Top 25 team would have a team's record or better against its schedule.

Georgia HC Kirby Smart. on the CFP selection committee:

"I don't know what they're looking for. I really don't. I wish they could really define the criteria. I wish they could do the eyeball test where they come down here and look at the people we're playing against and look at them. You can't see that stuff on TV, and so I don't know what they look for. But that's for somebody else to decide. I'm worried about our team."

Where will BYU (now 9-1) land after losing 17-13 last night at home to Kansas (now 4-6)? Can they say bye-bye to their 1st round bye?

Will Boise State replace BYU and now be projected with a 1st round bye?
