The presser said a lot about KFs recruiting problem. He's getting older and obviously more complacent. He may not realize that, most of us older guys don't think we're losing our drive-or at least won't admit it.

Were I the HC I would find some aggressive young super recruiter and pay him a ton of money to come to Iowa. Otherwise we'll be looking for that quality in the new coach come 2016.

The only way we could possibly attract better talent in this day and age is through NIL. As it appears most here do not support it then get used to it and let it go. Iowa is Iowa not OSU who raised and distributed 13 million to their players a few years ago through NIL. Pay up or shut up.

Most of our program woes comes down to recruiting and we have a coach that is very apathetic. He still recruits and runs a program like it is 1987. He refuses to change any part of his approach to the game and rigormortis is setting in.

I have always said, if you recruit against lower D1 teams, that is what you become, and we are there. Now do I expect 15 4*'s per year?? Absolutely not, but 4-6 consistently should be very attainable. There were 750 4* and 5* players during the past three years, getting only 3 is downright embarrassing and has shown itself on the field.

Not apathetic. Resigned.

I went and pulled up the 247 Composite for 2023 and OSU had 10 five stars on their roster and I believe they had either 11 or 12 going into 2024. Alabama, Georgia and OSU have ruled CF recruiting for the past several years. Those teams might not win the NC or even their conferences every year, but they're in the thick of things EVERY year and it goes right back to talent. I believe I read that OSU hasn't had more than a 2-loss season going back to around 2010 or 2011 ----- the Tressel sanction year.
