6 Former FSU players suing hoops coach...

4 year contract. If you want to transfer and break the contract you sit a year.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This ends in a second division where kids sign away their NIL for scholarship compensation.
Why would someone do that when they have other scholarship offers that will allow them to get NIL as well?

Why is Ham even in the business of brokering NIL deals?

In case you missed it, Miami's coach just quit mid-season because he's fed up with NIL and transfers.

It is interesting that the founder of a failed gator collective who teaches at miami is the attorney picked to lead this fight.

To really put that in context, why would he make that offer to those kids? That is not game changing talent overall…

When the dust settles there will be less money thrown around and there will be a lot of good players that are ok with a scholarship.
Jesus d3 has no scholarships. There are a lot of kids that just want to play. Remember they cut scholarships even though they raised the limit. Rosters went from 125-135 to 105 with far less scholarships.

I think that's what was said when free agency first came into pro sports. I think this is here to stay.

Leonard Hamilton over unpaid NIL $$$ last season.

Six former Florida State basketball players are suing coach Leonard Hamilton over unpaid NIL cash, according to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger. On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed the report.

“In a landmark filing, six former FSU basketball players are suing Seminoles coach Leonard Hamilton over $1.5 million in unpaid NIL cash they say he promised them,” Dellenger wrote on Twitter. “The complaint details a team-wide boycott of a practice last season over the payments.”

Ouch. That's not a good look...
Show me the money bitches!!

What I love about this story is that it really tells you absolutely everything you need to know about what a sham/scam NIL is.

A lawsuit for six figures based on 'name image and likeness' of people I've literally never heard of. And that's before you even get to the part where the coach is apparently the broker.

I don’t watch our men’s basketball team other than a minute here or there now. The bowl game isn’t must see TV anymore - I will maybe catch half of it. NIL/Pay for play and the portal ruined college sports. I knew I was going to hate it but it’s even worse than I imagined. People contributing their hard earned money to these selfish kids…I don’t get it when there are people who could use the help more than a D1 athlete. I can’t name a single football recruit for next year…because I barely give a damn.
Are you jealous of these kids? Do you need help more than a D1 athlete? Do you want people to contribute their hard earned money to you so you can continue being a Marxist keyboard warrior?

honestly, the worst part of it is that it undercuts the historic, important message to young athletes about how unbelievably hard it is to actually make a career out of athletics. Sure, there's some money available, earlier, but nowhere near enough to qualify as a nest egg.

It is but it’s going to lead to another level of division 1. This was my first reaction years ago and I stand by it.
Just saw an interview with Joe Moorhead and he said the same thing.

So it's OK to break your word if it isn't in writing?

Yeah, I know you didn't actually say that. But you say what many of us think. And thinking that way has led to a culture where we too often blame the victim rather than the lying cheaters.

Heck, we even prefer lying cheaters as President. The more lying and cheating, the better.
Wow…way to bring politics into it. 😳
