Thought you deserved your own thread for your important contributions to Iowa wrestling. Without your contrarian viewpoint, we wouldn't know that the senior class has largely underperformed, the Hawks no longer attack like in the days of yore, and it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Stellar work my friend, don't listen to the haters with any of their positivity...enjoy your moment in the sun.
From the looks of things on our board, your noting my summary of last year's team as being a "contrarian" view may no longer be quite true.

At the beginning of the year I said this year @NCAA would be vitally important for Brands and Company. A redo, so to speak, fresh start, new team dynamics, new leadership, new focus, ect. Nothing has changed on that front except that I'd say the pressure at the top is now visibly palpable. Now, Brands and Company are truly under in the pressure cooker--perhaps for the first time as coaches. ( I'm not counting last year, because we all know they knew the stakes, but the die was cast long before the season began.)

Let's give them a shot before we count them out. I actually think this current environment works to their advantage in the coming weeks--though, as many have mentioned, it could be that the recent turd is just the continuation of an old trend line.

Success is winning a NCAA team title, or having 2 Individual Champions. I still like Gilman, Sorenson and Burak as contenders, for what it's worth.

Damn 86, you're still pulling up old threads? This happens after every Iowa loss or non championship tournament run. It's hardly an original viewpoint. If it's not you, it's somebody else who 'splains how Iowa has lost their way. Each one of you just thinks you are original in your viewpoint. Like I tell the others, recruiting, coaching, M*, strength training, lack of attacking...it gets covered in here all the time. Yet last year, despite being who we were, we still finished as a National runner-up...and this is without a bonus point machine like Streibler. Yes, I know, if you aren't first place at Iowa your last.

So big guy...who besides the Brands? Look at how quickly ISU went downhill in a matter of a few years. They are not even in the conversation...hell, they are the bum outside of the building where the conversation is taking place sipping on cheap wine. So six+ years wasted under KJ only to maybe get a program enema that will take another five to rebuild. Brands has had a top five finish every year he has been here except for his first one. Nobody can say that. So yea, no pressure cooker from the Iowa admin...lol. Only one doing it probably is Brands himself.
