a change that would not bother nor surprise me

Anyone attending games do you see Polasek getting after the O-Line on the sidelines after a series? During the game, what is the O-Line doing while on the sidelines? Is he politely asking them to "execute" better or is he screaming in their faces?

lets see if you do better. I don't know about you but when I worked at all the jobs I had which was just a few I learned something new every week the last 2 jobs I stayed for 10+ years. you will be the 1st that I have run into that knows everything about their job from day one, congrats on your superiority to every human on the planet.
Yep, things I didn't know I learned. Things i already knew, I expanded on and improved those areas around me.

BF and Polasek know football. They have been doing this for some time at a high level, they are no longer "Interns or GAs".

BF use to be heard from nearly 3 sections away cursing at his OL for screwing up, then KF would follow with high 5's.

He gets after them pretty good

Tell us all about what you've learned. I'm seriously interested. I also would love to hear about your career and how much you've expanded and improved. It will help me to appreciate your criticism. Getting to know more about some of you might help me understand your perspective more.

I am not going into my personal life on HROT. We will just agree to disagree.

not surprised by this response, only you can have time to learn but since Polasek have been coaches they get ZERO time to learn their jobs.

hate to inform you but this is why they have Coaching Seminar for Colleges is to learn how to do a better job.
but hell no according to you they have no right to have a chance to learn how to do their jobs,

even in the Military it takes 12-18 years to get to be where some of those people to where they are and another 7-8 years to reach the highest level,
KF started under Fry then went to the Pro's before he became a HC, it took Phil Parker 15 years under KF to become the DC and he was a DB coach going back to the late 1980's. BF is just getting started,

but with you he is to be perfect in less than a year.

Kilroy you have to understand the staff was putting itself in a horrible position by hiring a family member at this point. There were going to be 2 outcomes. He succeeds(still possible), he fails and takes the whole ship down with him. Dad isn't firing his son and staying at the job. The admin should have safeguarded itself from this ever becoming half an issue. Let's say BF doesn't cut it next year, then what? If "Bob Smith" would have followed GD with the numbers BF has put up this year he would be on a very hot seat in the off season. Brian is at minimum going to get a "gimmie"year ( and that is exactly why this should have never happened)

in your perfect world only, BF and Polasek are both damned in your eyes, yes they have been Coaches but never at the positions they are Coaching this season. get out of your parents basement and join the real world.

I love it when people say 'you have to understand', lol. No one 'has' to understand anything. You may 'like' them to understand, but a lot of that has to do with your 'explanation' and the 'facts'. Once again, telling someone you 'have' to understand something is hyperbole.

There won't be any seismic changes IMO. Maybe consider, if anything, moving Reese back to OL and Polasek to DL? Nothing major.
Maybe Polasek moving on, that would shake things up....he's an OC and a pretty good one, not an O-line coach. Everyone seems concerned about Brian not becoming the next HC, doesn't matter what he does he's in. Think Polasek likes his rep being muddied while KF try's to justify BF becoming the new HC??

Polasek is not a OL Guru, what is though is/was the OC from NDSU the team that had won 5 straight FCS Championships,
he is /was also in Just his 1st season as Iowa OL coach working with a OL that went thru 6 changes thru the 1st 6 games. Now his OL has settled down to these as starter's
LT RSFR Jackson
LG JR Render
C JR Daniels and he is 1st true FR to start on the OL in the last 15 years.
RG RSSR Welsh
RT FR Wirfs and he is just the 2nd true FR to start on the OL in the last 15 years.

not very long to judge Polaseks ability to coach the OL and just like Brain has been the OC since January less than a year EVER at the OC. TO MANY are having a knee jerk reaction to the job these 2 are doing.

its really sad how many are trying to act like they were perfect from year one of their jobs and try and act like they can do a better job.

"JR Daniels and he is 1st true FR to start on the OL in the last 15 years."
Bryan Bulaga

Power 5 schools aren't places where people should go to learn how to coach an OL or be an OC. Do you promote a run game coordinator whose running game finished in the bottom half of his group? Heck had an award winning line and 2 - 1,000 yard rushers and finished in the bottom half, and got promoted. Not sound.

or...and here is a funny thought...maybe move Polasek to RB coach (what he coached at NDSU besides OC) and make Brian the OL coach on top of the OC.

hate [not] this goes on through out P5 AND other schools where coaches change coaching all the time, its called CROSS TRAINING to expand their experience to make them better coaches.

and I can tell BF was failure as the run game coordinator having a pair of RB's do something that HAD NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE in the HISTORY of IOWA FB by having TWO go over 1000 + yards rushing in the same season.

And was so impressive at it that over half of his peers were better at it than he was, give him the 'most athletic at computer camp' award. In most jobs finishing in the bottom half of your peer group doesn't get you a promotion and a raise. Since you seem to have time can you give us a list of P5 OC have that job with no OC or HC experience or came from an offense where their group was in the bottom half of their peer group? Should be a lengthy list.

Did you choose to ignore that you were factually wrong about Daniels as well?

oh well that still means that there were 3 not 2 FR that started in the last 15 year, but 2 in the last 3 years, strange to have 1 True FR in 12 years then 2 in 3 years, says a lot about the direction this program is headed by letting more true freshmen play or start vs past seasons.
Even true FR Hankins will be making his 1st start making him the 3rd true freshman to start this season.

Hankin was also a North South AA Game member. the 3rd of the 4 AA game members to either start or play this year.

I don't care if you're Urban Meyer or Nick Saban, when you run something as big as a football program, you're only as good as your assistant coaches. If you don't put then in the places where they can best pass their knowledge on to the players to improve the team, you're doing a disservice to the squad. Urban Meyer had co-def coord. and co-off. coord. before Fickel left. When the off. coordinators couldn't get the job done, he got rid of them.

don't have to read as BF has only been on the Iowa staff since March of 2012, Morgan 0 Outland Trophy player, BF 1 Outland Trophy OL,
Sorry but Gallery was before Morgan.

From his Bio: "Morgan has coached three Outland Trophy winners, an award presented each year to the top interior offensive lineman in college football. Brandon Scherff, who was recruited and coached by Morgan his first two years at Iowa, earned the 2014 Outland Trophy. Following the 2003 season, Robert Gallery became Iowa’s third Outland Trophy winner. As the head coach at Benton Community HS, Morgan coached Chad Hennings, the 1987 winner, who was a defensive tackle at the Air Force Academy. Hennings is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame."

Wrong is wrong, it's okay to admit it.
