We all know the officiating in college basketball, men and women, generally stinks. Games are, in fact, too often decided by capricious, inconsistent, if not biased officiating. The evidence is clear and undeniable. So to address the issue, take 2 timeouts away and give coaches 2 challenges per half instead. There are too many timeouts as it is. Coach 'em up at practice. Let 'em play when the game begins. And when the officials make some idiotic call, instead of going crazy on the sideline to no effect--except maybe getting a T--challenge it. They do it in the NFL. They do it in MLB. They do it in the WNBA. They do it in the NBA. It's way past time to do it in college basketball. The ability to challenge an egregious call would return SOME semblance of fairness to a game that's been outta hand for a while.

BTW: And one other rule change that is needed ASAP is to limit timeouts to DEAD BALL situations only. This crap of calling timeout in the middle of a play has to stop. There's nothing else like it in any other sport. Internnational rules already ban live ball timeouts. But college rules still allow them. When a player is trapped in the corner, the coach calls timeout. What?! Stop it. Stop it now.

How about having the official who made the blown call sit in the opponents student section for 5 minutes?

Dumb. Timeouts per game have already been reduced from 5 to 4 for years.

Also dumb. You are depriving not just coaches but players of the ability to call timeout when the ball is live. No more calling timeout to stop a big run I guess, because it will be called while a player is moving with the ball and that'll be an automatic tech against the team trying to stem the tide.

As far as I know the player has to be the one to call timeout in that situation. And he should have that option.

What they really need to do is get rid of any referee who wants to be a flamboyant showboat. Nobody paid good money out of their own pocket to watch those guys stride around the court. While they're at it, they can do away with refs holding an impromptu whistle concert because they are about to take 27 minutes reviewing a buzzer-beater that left the shooter's hand with a full second on the clock.
