A look at 157 for Iowa

Wrestlestat has removed Teemer from their rankings and placed the medical redshirt icon next to his name.

Any idea if that is speculation on their part, or confirmed?
I guess he could take a second medical redshirt, but I think the second is harder to get approved. Didn’t Kemerer have 2 medical redshirts? If he does do this, we are screwed with an undersized Rathjen or VV. Second place may be in jeopardy. Lucky to hang onto 3rd over Minnesota

Do you lock your house to take the garbage out by chance?

I tell you what if I was in an arena with 100 lions and the only way out is to climb a ladder or fence there's gonna be 100 lions holding ice packs on their faces. F*ck that.
While I certainly understand your fear of heights - good luck with that whole lion thing. In the end I'd rather fall to my death than have my intestines eaten while I'm still alive or worse yet, kept alive long enough to let one its cubs practice on me. Nature is a cruel beast.

That's what stood out to you in his post??

I about spit my Dr. Pepper on my phone when he stated trying to stay ahead of Minnesota!
With wrestlestat removing Teemer and Minnesota able to handle their tryptophan better than South Dakota State, the podium battle keeps heating up. Below are my projections for second and beyond using today's wrestlestat ranks.

Iowa takes a big hit if wrestlestat is correct about Teemer. And remember that wrestlestat still has Gable Steveson sitting in fifth. There is a lot of upside left for the most Golden of Gophers (about 10 points per my model). That puts Minnesota around 61.3 (if Steveson is the 1 seed) to Iowa's 73. Still a sizable lead, but a shrinking one.

I'm scared of heights. I'd slap the shit out of a lion before I'll go up a ladder.

This isn’t going to help ease your fears Jason. Just before Thanksgiving my boss was up on a 15’ ladder doing some yard work. He fell off and, like a cat (or lion), he landed on his feet. He broke both of them, as well as his ankles and his right tibula. He then fell forward, landed on his face and broke the bone in his chin. He had to have surgery on both legs, is now doped up pretty good and has quite the rehab ahead of him. So yeah, f*ck ladders.

He’s not out for the year man. He may not be 100% by the end of the year but he's not going to want to take another Med shirt.

It never ceases to amaze me when people think Wrestlestat is a source for anything other than results. It’s awesome for that. I use it all the time. But citing it as a source for anything else (like this, or rankings) is akin to using Wikipedia as a source for a research paper.

All models are wrong, but some are useful.

It has been my experience that wrestlestat rankings are on par with any other ranking (intermat, flo) when viewed broadly, like at the team level. And that is what I use any of them for, rankings. The scoring models are my own. Because all of the ranking services use a version of the same simplistic, binary model, that assume their rankings are always correct, to build a team score, I never use theirs.

Wikipedia is more reliable than what most people use to gather information these days. And if you'd quit spending the other half of your days screwing with Wikipedia entries, it would be more useful.

That's good news. JT was really having fun and looking to make noise every time out and especially at Nattys. Can't wait to see him healthy and in the lineup again.
It will be a tough row to hoe for JT if he does in fact get back by late January/February (I'm guessing that will be the goal with a hammy injury). Won't leave him much time to get his lungs. Weight management will be much harder with his injury in his off time as well. Really hope he can get back to himself by March.
